Great game. Too bad somebody had to lose. Azarenka is very gracious in defeat as Serena is in victory.

Pretty good match until the 3rd which turned into a rout. :(

But this is just one sad crowd. Even in the finals they can't fill up the entire stadium which is a HUGE disappointment. Seriously I think New York doesn't deserve the US Open when year after year the crowds seem to get worse and worse while the AO and Wimbledon attendance, atmosphere and enthusiam is always awesome.

It's women's tennis. Compared to other women's sports, tennis has a huge turnout.

Yeah does the US open final ususally coincide with NFL football. Seems like they should schedule a week earlier.

It was 90% full anyways. It's by far the biggest stadium as well, having a bigger capacity than almost all NBA/NHL arenas. I'd say that's a pretty darn good turn out. Plus, aren't tickets at a ridiculous price too. And like others said, week 1 of football.

Some of these angles being hit in this match are ridiculous and they're still being returned.

Djokovic is playing incredible tennis right now. We know Rafa won't give up though.

Rafa right back in it. Not that surprising, their matches seem to have a ton of momentum swings.

Djokovic about to massively choke this 3rd set away.

Djokovic really should have won that one.

He's going to lose sleep over the end of the 3rd set for a long time, especially since it's likely going to cost him this match.

So many missed opportunities for Novak, Rafa just way stronger on the important points.

Novak's been doing a fine job of choking this one out but seriously man, how can the final be on a monday and coincide with MNF?

2013 US Open

Post#78 » by EH15 » Tue Sep 10, 2013 12:15 am

They changed it because they wanted to give the guys one day of rest before the final. Good decision IMO.

I think this ones done. Nole really hasn't been on the same level since 2011. He's been slowly getting worse in GS finals after the 2012 Aussie Open. Nadal looks like he's regained, or gotten close, to his 2010 form. Lets hope Nole gets back to his 2011 form next year.

I don't mind Rafa winning but it sucks to see Novak just give it away.
