So happy for Novak. I still can't believe he managed to hold on in the final set after the choke job in the fourth.

He looked like he had Novak beat in the fitness department today. Just remarkable what he can still do at his age.

In the past 4 years, the only slam match Djokovic has lost to Nadal not at the French is last year's US Open. He has no problem dealing with Nadal in slams. Even on clay he puts up the best fight of anyone else on tour. He really should be closer to 10 slams by now, but he's still the best player in the world and has reached 11 of the last 15 finals in GS, with only a QF and three SF losses when he didn't make it. His earliest exit in a GS the past 4 years is a QF loss! He's been the model of consistency since 2011.

djokovic had won just 1 of the last 9 slam events before wimbledon :o
nadal had won 4 of the last 9 slam events before wimbledon, and only played in 7 of them.
djokovic needed this wimbledon so badly, he was hanging by a thread, and very nearly lost to an almost 33-year-old!
