[MERGED]Suns are targeting Channing Frye

Post#1 » by Traxxe » Thu Jul 2, 2009 6:54 am

Hill has too many offers for more money and it is unsettling. But he did like Phoenix last year. We're going to be outbid and the ball is in his court.

There are no talks for Odom. I heard that is BS.

Frye has been called and discussions are ongoing.

Sarver and Kerr are meeting with Amare's agent next week to talk extension/future.

Maybe some of this is out, I got the email a few hours ago about it. Haven't checked yet on the board.

So Frye instead of Hill. Yikes. Talk about a downgrade. We're screwed if Frye is a regular rotation player.

I wouldn't worry about who is offering Hill what. He will be polite and listen.

Are you the new "insider"? All of a sudden they send you in after 2 sources have gone under the radar, send you in saying things like in your other thread you said "those inside the organization have asked for a couple of peeps on the RealGM board to stop leaking". Now, mysteriously you are providing us with "insight" into things that are already reported as 95% certain. So if you really are an inside source, then you've gone against your employer/contact's wishes and leaked information of your own.

If I'm wrong and you've been verified by the mods, forgive me, but there's something fishy going on here :o

i personally think Hill is the kind of guy that if he thinks this suns team can compete he will take a pay cut to be here. he is very professional and gets along with nash great if nash stays i put my money on the fact that hill will stay too!

I'm so on the fence with this insider thing...I think it can really detract from leverage for the Suns...I love knowing this stuff but we always blow it and it gets too big for just RealGM...we need to be careful with this sort of thing - it can/has hurt the Suns leaking inside grumblings on here

It's a group decision obviously ;)

you're funny bro.

but i agree we get to a point where when an insider says something we kinda all fight over it... and then it leads to bad things... AKA IHG being kicked off id much rather not know anything and have a few speculations and see what the Suns actually do.

I qualify my statements that I'm not a great insider. I just am in a position hear things. But I can stop. It's no big deal to me. I'm wrong sometimes too. Lot of BS info gets tossed about to people with connections, etc.

Anyway, I just post what i hear. Don't take it as fact.

Channing Frye would be a sweet pick up. He never got any serious playing time with the Blazers.

Loads of potential. He has a Tim Duncan move where he will turn, face his man and bank the ball in from 10 ft.

agreed he would ONLY be useful for us IF we can get him for cheap.. if the price tag is even the slightest bit higher than expected we cant use him ( it sucks)

Haven't been around as much the last couple of days.... I don't doubt him at all if people are vouching for him, but honest question wondering what he's gotten right so far so I know?

I think everyone should take this approach. IHG posted things and demanded people to take it as a fact and when things changed and he had to explain himself he went with the "i just post what I hear." Everyone else should take it as an extra bit of info and just take it as an idea of what's happening and not what is happening exactly.

I always thought Frye was interesting, not starter-quality, but someone who could come off the bench and be real productive. Unfortunately he just didn't get enough consistent PT in POR to show it. If we could get him for cheap, why not.

I just hope it doesn't give our FO justification for trading Amare.

Well Traxxe, it sounds like whatever you are providing then is approximately at the level of news sources - like you hear it approximately when it is going to be released. Since that's the case I don't have a problem with it as long as you distinguish between your speculation and what you hear.

I think the issue with info leaking out was a more recent thing because not to say anyone is better or worse but DB only came forth every now and then with a tidbit. IHG then came in and was sort of pushing his info, using it to get attention so he was posting things every day, and jumping on people for not believing him. Like I said not to point any fingers at IHG but I think the insider info became too much of an integral part of the boards, which is why it got out of hand.
