Fire Blanks

Post#1 » by phx#7 » Tue Jan 22, 2013 8:50 pm

Despite the disagreements among fans on the direction of the team and what should be done going forward I think we nearly unanimously agree that Blanks needs to go. With all that has come out and with the likelyhood of more to come I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread dedicated to focusing our mutual disgust and vitriol to the blight of the team that is Lance Blanks.

- says the decision to part with Gentry was mutural. Gentry comes out and says they wanted him gone

- says O'Neal misses practice and game vs. Kings due to injury. Woj comes out and reports that Blanks and JO were engaged in an "expletive-laced" confrontation

- says the decision to part with Gentry was mutural. Gentry comes out and says they wanted him gone

-Only person to have interest in Beasley and gave him a 3 year deal

-Drafts Kendall Marsall and signs Dragic anyway

-Creates a mutiny between the coaches due to him hiring his puppet and the least liked guy on the coaching staff

-Calls Luke Zeller "one of the best shooters in the world"

-Hires NBA HC with 0 coaching experience who was/is being investigated by the FBI.

-Trades Dragic and a 1st round pick for Aaron Brooks.

-Signs a guy who only played 9 games the previous year and has never been an All Star to a max contract.

- fires Gentry because of the lack of player developement, yet brough in Scola, O'Neal and kept Telfair

- drafts Marshall because he wanted a proven winner

- says Grant Hill and Steve Nash are welcomed to the club as long as they want - doesn't offer a contract to Nash, lowballs Hill with the vet minimum

- is idiotic enough to challenge JO in a shouting competition

-Doesn't sign Mayo because Mayo wants too much, but then Mayo signs a $4M a year contract with Dallas.

-Signed Shannon Brown........twice

Best of Lance Blanks 01/22/2013:

- says the decision to part with Gentry was mutural. Gentry comes out and says they wanted him gone

- says O'Neal misses practice and game vs. Kings due to injury. Woj comes out and reports that Blanks and JO were engaged in an "expletive-laced" confrontation

I really think that phx#7 should put all these things into the opening post. Let's collect them all.

What is Lon's role in all of this?

You can't look at these things in hindsight only.

Dragic and a late pick for Brooks looked like a steal at the time. Dragic was one of the worst performing players in the league and Brooks a few months away from winning most improved..

Goran Dragic signing was forced by Sarver, Babby and Blanks preferred Ray Felton.

Blanks should have been fired after his first interview but some of the things in this thread are uncalled for.

Brooks was one of the worst preforming players in the league and Dragic was a few months removed from helping the Suns sweep the Spurs and having a significant impact in the playoffs at the time of the trade as well.

Doesn't sign Mayo because Mayo wants too much, but then Mayo signs a $4M a year contract with Dallas.

After giving Shannon Brown a one year stop gap deal to ensure they would have ample cap space in 2012, signs Brown to a two year deal in 2012.

Brown was essentially given another 1yr deal.

But the 2nd year of his contract is 50% guaranteed (that's a whopping $1.75M) if he's waived before June 30, 2013.

It's only guaranteed for 1mil and they can use the stretch provision to bring the cap hit as low as $333K. Brown's guaranteed money for next season has no real impact on the team.
