Has anyone actually seen him play? There is absolutely no way he impacts the game as much as Frye did. I watched him on the Wolves, he's a garbage minutes type player and good cheerleader. That's it.

Also he's undersized for a PF (6'8). We're going to miss Frye's length. And seeing Ed Davis go to the Lakers for a million a year makes my blood boil even more.

yah but who knows what ed davis wants. maybe he wanted to be close to his children who live in phoenix, so that's why he chose the Lakers :dontknow:

i am actually glad they got one decent contract. even Laker fans deserve some crumbs. those ppl are entering a gray period of fan-life. and unless Ryan quits his job here and goes there, i dont see a miracle turnaround on the horizon. (assuming he goes there and doesn't cripple the team with his back problems LOL@THEM)

They don't deserve anything but a lifetime of darkness and torment.

7 pages for Tolliver! Wow.

The biggest thing I learned with the Tolliver signing, bringing back Randolph, not going after Ed Davis or Boozer, is that Ryan McD and Hornacek prize chemistry and character. Far as I can tell, there's not one **** on the team. That's amazing.

I predict >50 wins this season. The only situation I'm not particularly happy with is our bigs. If Len is injured, we're looking at Randolph or Kieff at the 5, with Marcus, Tolliver, or Tucker at the 4. We'll miss Channing in those situations I think.

Great post. The way Hornacek gets more out of Green (than many coaches ever could) and Plumlee (never played in NBA more than like one minute per game) makes me think he could DEFINITELY turn Tolliver into a very effective player.

I didn't pay attention at all because I thought Tolliver was basically filler, but I'm getting a bit excited now. He was 12th in eFG% last season (min. 200 attempts)

Table Here

What is eFG%?

The centers always dominate FG% stats because of distance to the basket. If you just look at non-centers. here are the top guys in the league by eFG:

1. Kyle Korver
2. Lebron James
3. Mike Miller
4. Anthony Tolliver
5. Jose Calderon
6. Amir Johnson :P
7. Marco Belinelli
8. Kawhi Leonard
9. Steph Curry
10. Patty Mills

Now I'm not saying he's going to be an all-star or anything, but that isn't bad company. I think he's an amazing addition for the price, and his attitude is great on top of that.

I've seen him play, and actually used to admire him starting back in his Golden State days (I believe there may have been a couple other posters who agreed at the time, TASTIC maybe? So I do believe he has actually been discussed by Suns fans in the past)

I haven't seen him *enough* to make an educated piece-by-piece comparison to Frye since I have watched hundreds of hours of Frye's game, but I have always felt that he's an efficient player who can contribute at a solid level proportionate to the minutes he gets.

I'm excited about the signing.
