Houston is a weird team this year. Lost opening night to Denver by 20, then lose their next two games by 20 (to the Warriors and Heat) and then they win 4 in a row including one against the Thunder and the Clips on the road, and then they lose to Brooklyn, giving the Nets their first win, and now they are losing again to Denver. They may pull this one out, but so many playoff teams from last year kind of struggling, and then teams that were supposed to suck lingering right with them at 500.

If you look at their lineup, it really doesn't look all that bad.

Damn, Utah pulling out a 1 point victory against the Hawks.

Also, in surprising news, Boston beats OKC pretty badly outscoring them by 17 in the 4th...Sullinger with 15 boards, but the biggest nice surprise for Celts fans have to be Marcus Smart with 26 pts, 8 boards, 3 assists, a steal, block, 3-5 from 3s and over 60% shooting overall....and of course the best part about his game is his defense.

Utah is looking really good. I'm a big fan of Snyder and Stevens as coaches.

Yeah, they both seem solid, though I think Boston may have a harder time making the playoffs this year with teams like Detroit and Indiana getting so much better. The east looks like teams like 5-12 or so are all going to be scrapping for those last four playoff spots.

Wow and Cousins with 23 pts and 3 3 pointers AT THE HALF.

speaking of Boston, they just beat the Hawks and Thunder in consecutive games. seems like they've settled on a starting lineup featuring Isaiah, Amir Johnson, Sully at center, Jae Crowder and Smart. i'm not so sure they can't sneak into the 8th seed. the bottom half of the East is pretty much tied.

Marcus Morris has been looking more like himself the last few games.

Anyone been listening to Bill Simmons' Podcast on Sound Cloud? (link: https://soundcloud.com/the-bill-simmons-podcast ) He mentions the Suns in his most recent episode with Joe House (NBA stuff happens in the second half).
Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Loving Philly still not winning a game.
I want that franchise to break the records you don't wanna break to prevent talent from ever wanting to play there.

Philly has tanked and had top picks for years now, but they still cannot turn the corner. It reminds me of the Clippers of a decade ago. All those picks, but they missed on lots of them and then never had the team structure to develop the player they had. You have to develop a winning culture in your rebuilding process.

They are certainly in the mix, but you have Cleveland, Chicago, Toronto and Atlanta who are pretty much certain. Then for the rest you have Detroit, Indiana, Charlotte and Milwaukee. You also have Washington, but they may be the team in danger....I read in Pelton's chat that only Wall, Beal and Gortat rate above as above avg players. They could be the most prime destination for Markieff if he was to get dealt, but in that case it would have to be for picks, a 3 way trade, or maybe Kris Humphries? Prior to this year he was 2-27 in threes, over like 10 years, and this year he is 13-28, hitting 46%, and like 58% over his last 5 games. We could ask for him and a pick, though we would be getting older there and would need to find that future PF in the draft or quickly and hope he lasts.

Again, I'd probably prefer to keep Kieff for now as I expect him to turn the corner shortly, but that could be an option, as they may get desperate for that third scorer, but of course that would leave us needing that third scorer (4 including Warren, but one of our scorers needs to be with the bench unit).
