Only way Brooklyn and Minnesota will win games, is if they play each other or they accidentally score more points when they look up.

We just can't gain any ground on Minnesota/Brooklyn. It's so frustrating.

No one should get too worked up over things yet. There are still 34 games left. Things are going to change. Watching us nudge one game ahead or behind of anyone right now is a waste of thought. This isn't directed at you Dirty Dez but anyone worried about being one game ahead of or behind Minnesota or other teams around us right now.

Well, we have lost what seems like 50 games in a row and are still in the 5th spot. Minny has won one game and so has Brooklyn. I never realized how bad sorry teams are until this year. It takes consistent losing to be awful.

Minny s the Lakers Tuesday. So we pick up a game there. Hopefully Minny wins. LAL and Philly are destined for 1-2 and Us, MInny, and Brooklyn are battling for 3-5.

Exactly. The original poster is wrong. When the teams at the bottom win 1 out of 4 games then each win damn well matters. We have gone 1-9 in our last 10 games and only moved 1 game closer to Brooklyn and 0 games closer to LA. When so many teams are in this predicament, a single win can drastically hurt our chances. It matters a lot.

Drastically hurt our chances on better luck though. It's not likely being placed higher matters nearly as much as in the nfl or a league without a lottery. Regardless of all that, I still think Minnesota and Brooklyn are more likely to win than we are. They both nearly won tonight. Sure, nearly winning doesn't count, but they are obviously trying to win.

Maybe so, but having a team of underachieving guys who have no chemistry puts us at risk because things like chemistry can change suddenly. I don't want us suddenly winning games, and it's important we put as much distance between us and other teams as possible. I see no reason why it's wrong for a suns fan right now to not be concerned with losing and hoping other teams win. This is our playoffs thanks to how this season has gone. If we were in a playoff run nobody would be saying not to worry about 1 game in the standings.

I get you, and agree, and would rather Minnesota and Brooklyn pulled out those wins tonight....was hoping for it, but teams like that are more likely to break through for a win than a team like our's in our current state, and with 35+ games to go, getting worked up about being one game back or tied with teams with the 3rd to 5th record is wasted energy. Lets see how it plays out. I've always thought if you were in the bottom 7, you have a pretty good chance to get up there, so if we are set at 5, I like our chances, and of course I like them better at 3 and 4, but stressing over that isn't worth it. I wish this was with next year's crop of talent and not this years though.

Curious, if we end up getting the 3rd pick, do you take Bender or Dunn right now, not knowing what we will do at the deadline, or even regardless of what we do?

Trade the farm to BOS for the BKN pick and take both!

Bledsoe, Dunn
Booker
Warren
Bender, Leuer/Tele
Chandler, Len

At this stage the top 2 players are levels above the rest, so I'd be tempted to trade the 3rd pick if the available players don't have transformational ability.

I would take Jaylen Brown. He is an outstanding athlete, great handler for his size ( 6'7 tall, 7 feet wingspan) and he is strong like a bull. Offensively he reminds me of Tyreke Evans, Stanley Johnson and even some Harden. He needs to improve his shooting and his overall defense, but he has huge potential.

Really good to have players like him in the modern NBA, he can switch a lot and he can defend in the future ( like Iguodala or Barnes on GSW ) three different positions out there.

Yeah I'm fine with either of the Cal guys as consolation prize if we miss out on the crown jewels arnd are picking outside the Top 3 . In fact I like Rabb more than Bender because he looks like more of a sure thing and isn't as boom or bust

I probably wouldn't be opposed depending on what we could get in a package coming back, but I'd like to know more about Bender as well. If he is for real then I think we've gotta take him.

With the way Simmons look at times I have no issues with picking Brown ahead of him, but man do we need Ingram. Brown would be my choice at three over Bender yes.

Srsly screw Minny they can't buy a win and I'm pretty sure its intentional considering that they are sticking with Smitchell who is a terrible developmental coach. Ever year lost increases the liklihood of their youngins bolting when their rookie deals are up. They are gunna luck out again and land Simmons and we will end up picking outside the Top 5 most likely

TBH maybe boom or bust isn't such a bad thing in our case; I heard through the grapevine that next year's draft class projects to be very, very good. Taking a risk and getting a project that keeps us dwelling in the basement even worse for a bit longer could serve to our benefit. Either way, you just wanna get the best prospect, regardless of position or potential to bust.
