Do you miss watching Devin Booker?

Post#1 » by krishanson » Fri Apr 28, 2017 7:28 pm

As a coping mechanism, I straight up spent like 8 hours last weekend watching Devin Booker highlights and I ended up making this.

Already can't wait to watch him average 25 PPG next season.

I'm hoping he doesn't touch a basketball for a month and sleeps 12 hours a day.

I know he isn't the most efficient shooter yet, but God damn he has the most beautiful form.

I think his shooting will improve drastically once he gets another player or two around him that can take the defensive game plans off of totally revolving around him. He mostly ISOs which takes a lot of energy, but hes still one of the best ISO/post up players on the league.

He's actually one of the better ISO scorers in points per possession according to NBA.com/stats. He also averaged 24.8 PPG on 44/40/84 shooting in the final 44 games, which is pretty efficient. He'll jump up a few percentages from most spots on the court as he gets older. When you consider his age and the fact that he's the #1 scorer on his team, his numbers a pretty high. I'm guessing that he'll consistently have a TS% above .600 by the time he's 22. His 3PT shooting and FTA rate will save him if his mid-range shot doesn't get better.

You don't wake up to see that every morning. What, did you order a door poster of Booker online or pick one up when you went to Phx?

Someone won it in a Suns group on FB, I believe it's one of those posters they hang around the arena, the backside is orange and says "We are Phx" with a Suns logo. Anyway, he sold it to me, and it arrived last week.

Well, a good souvenir. So if you wake up to it every morning, I guess that's what your girlfriend looks at when...ahh never mind.

He's spoken a lot already this off-season about being in the weight room. When he adds some more muscle and stamina, he'll be insanely difficult to stop.

I hope he spends the early part of the offseason letting his foot and ankle heal. And, then, I hope he spends some time firming up his body while working on improving his understanding of team defense.

I don't miss it because i was rooting for losses. I am looking forward to being able to see and root for him and the team again next season though

No ... I know we will see him playing for the Suns for at least 15 more years.

I miss watching Steve Nash ... poetry.

I agree. Booker's offense isn't particularly fancy and not efficient either (at this point) and we really watch in the hope he has an epic offensive showing but that's not a nightly thing. Nash's game, whether he puts up 20/15 or 11/8, is must-see TV. I miss watching Nash play.
