3 years $7m...

$3m buyout maybe?

Yeah or they simply demote him to prevent a lump sum payout or something. You know how they are with spending money.

Which is why Kerr might step in as coach...Wouldn't surprise me if Sarver said to him, "you can fire him but the payout comes out of your salary" haha

if Kerr's coach - albeit an interim one - it's another cost cutting move...Gentry is the logical choice though, he's got head coaching experience and has been with the team through the good times and well, now...

Awesome, they are already reporting this rumor on Utah Radio because of this thread. The internet is awesome.

How official is this? Any sources?

I'm surprised management did this before the All-Star game basically here.

Absolutely great news. Short-term, maybe we are **** for the playoffs. But did anyone here actually imagine having long-term success with Terry Porter, even after post Nash-Shaq?

Kerr won't step in because that would keep him away from SD home for extended periods.

Seriously, Suns need a BIG menacing coach who can incite fear, like a Bobby Knight.

LOL. That's Howard Dean. Haven't you seen the clip of him going ape-shat at one of his presidential campaign rallies?

This is great news!! Try to get Mark Ivaroni and have Alvin Gentry resume the head coaching job.

This is going to change the Suns success... From here in on the Suns are going to change the season around...

Guys.........Sarver is not going to pay out new money for a new coach. It's going to be one of the guys on the bench or Kerr.
