And Eff the LV AC, what nonsense putting that old guy in there with Spong. The guy had no ground game, they put some outofshape old dude into a kickboxing match with one of the top three 205 pound kickboxers in the world. Juiced to the gills, at that. That's what an AC is supposed to prevent. And screw Spong for not having mercy, going outright for headkick KOs.

Sick knockout by Rumble, but I got a kick out of "I showed him what a 170 pounder can do." Come on, Rumble...

minute and a half into the Arlo fight...he's just not very good. they talk about him with Winklejohn and Roach...I just don't see it. there's very little high-level skill. no other weight class could you get away with being this lacking. as I say that, he gets the KO. but w./ev.

Harris vs Burkman is worth a watch. For sure.

There's no irony in 'The People's Champ', I'm pretty convinced...mainly because of his soul patch.

I suspect Burkman will be back in the UFC very soon. He's won six of seven.

Devin Cole having "THE DOLCE DIET" on the back of his shorts in huge gold letters may have been a poor sponsorship choice for Mike

Sefo said that 7 bigger name fighters turned down the Spong fight, including Houston Alexander.

Houston Alexander lost to Kimbo Slice. What more does he have to lose?

What I take from this is that no one who could use a win was willing to test Spong's TDD. Which means he's either really good on the ground and word has traveled or the odds of getting busted up trying to get the fight there are too high. It's not like HA is a sub machine or anything, really. It would take an insane, bad, bad man to think he could trade with Spong, at least outside of the true strikers of 205 who are hanging around waiting for Jones to go away.

Unless you are elite or plain crazy, who would want to risk heading in to see if Spong's knees will meet you?

He looked scary. Especially against a b-cupped can.

This Friday. WSOF 3. On NBA Sports (not sure of a Canadian equivalent, probably Sportsnet)

Jon Fitch vs. Josh Burkman
Steve Carl vs. Tyson Steele
Brian Cobb vs. Justin Gaethje
Jacob Volkmann vs. Lyle Beerbohm
John Gunderson vs. Dan Lauzon
Kendrick Miree vs. Krasimir Mladenov
Jeff Smith vs. Jerrod Sanders
Carson Beebe vs. Joe Murphy

Fitch/Burkman, Cobb/Gaethje, and Volkmann/Beerbohm should be solid scraps. I really like Gaethje... he's a beast.

Also, Ray Sefo will be fighting either Rolles Gracie or Dave Huckaba at WSOF 4.

Ex-junkie and felon versus dumbass chiropractor with the tiniest sense of self imaginable... oh boy, I wonder who I'm rooting for.

Seriously though, that's a pretty good fight. When Volkmann went on his LW run, I thought Beerbohm would make an awesome opponent if he ever came to UFC.

I had a feeling Burkman would knock him out. Never thought I'd see Fitch submitted.

Main card was a mixed bag. Parts of the Gaethje fight were good... his hype is a little deflated, fighting like an idiot in the first round. Volkmann/Fancy Pants was a bad, bad fight.. Volkmann just smothered him and FP was reluctant to strike. Just bad. Really bad. The other two fights were super quick finishes.

Undercard was a disaster with static/feedback doubling for the audio feed. They have a lot of technical issues to work out over there.

Fitch should have spent more time training and less time bitching about the UFC pay scale. He certainly made the UFC look smart for cutting him tonight.

Whoever the matchmaker is at WSOF, he should be fired. Volkmann vs. Beerbohm? What did you expect from that genius matchup?

Mazagatti let Fitch get choked completely unconscious without so much as bending down to get a closer look. Had Burkman not just let go and walked away, there is no telling how much longer that fight goes on. Bad night for Mazagatti.

Bellator got the last laugh for not signing him too. Zuffa Zombies argued Bellator was scared because Fitch would wreck their whole ww division, including Askren. He wouldn't have a chance against Askren, Lima, Koreshkov, or a few other guys, these days. He hasn't aged well, and is not an entertaining fighter, thus was not worth his salary demands likely. They could have signed him for their ww's to make their name off him, but it was perfectly reasonable not to given he wasn't close to value in and of himself.

All that said, Burkman has look quite improved since entering the WSOF cage, and I think he could make an impression in UFC at like a Mike Pyle level right now.

Good thing I DVR'ed it, because it would have been absolutely soul crushing watching it live without having the option to fast forward it. Volkmann is such a troll out of the cage, and also in it with his "sticky" style. His striking and much of his sub attempts are just for show, and mostly he's just spamming TD attempts and position. Then Beerbohm was all too foolish to enable him with his horrid fight I.Q. as he displayed against Aoki. That was a fight nobody wanted to see but their parents.

WSOF really needs to get better with their match-making. That was a ridiculous style match up and they've got to cut down the Zuffa reject vs. Zuffa reject match-ups that we get little to nothing out of.

that doesn't even mean anything. do you actually think he was "whining", and that it was cutting into his training? or are you just...gloating? really?
