I dunno about how the whole boxing on NBC is going to go... but they did pick some solid fights to start it off. I wonder if the quality will last.

I don't know what quite to make of this...

Nothing, Mayweather got everything he wanted and gets 60% of the purse (which would easily be 55-60 million) and he'll still find some way to make it look like Manny didn't do enough to make the fight happen in spite of the fact that Floyd probably wins that fight 80% of the time. Floyd fights guys he knows he can beat, Manny has a small but plausible chance to win. If this were poker Floyd wants the cards face up and he only calls with Aces versus KQ off suit.

2 out of the three fights are good. I hate that Broner is fighting a guy coming off 2 straight losses. When are they going to put him in against someone who can threaten him.

Pacquiao is a small variable in this. The only thing we know is that he has blindly agreed to take whatever deal he's thrown because he's just a fighter and ultimately has little say in all of this. Do you honestly believe HBO and Showtime would be talking without Mayweather signing off on it? Do you think they are doing this for fun?

There is no deal or nothing set in motion until HBO and Showtime agree on the delay PPV rights. So far all we know is that HBO is reluctant to make the exact same deal they made back in 2002 when Lennox Lewis was the favorite over Mike Tyson in a joint PPV because their fighter, Pacquiao is the underdog this time around. Showtime took this deal back in 2002 knowing Lewis was the favorite over Tyson. Lewis ended up winning and the delayed PPV rights were won by HBO, and the fight was forever branded an HBO fight.

HBO don't want to do that again because they already know what time it is when it actually comes to Manny and Floyd stepping in the ring.

There is also the issues of the Top rank/ tecate showgirls and the gb/al haymon corona girls. Those things matter.

I don't see that being a huge issue. Golden Boy is more than likely on the outside looking in right now. Oscar and Haymon just recently had somewhat of a split. If it comes down to it Top Rank will just provide the showgirls and beer sponsor and I'm sure they'll split the sponsor money up somehow.

It actually is a bigger deal than what you make it out to be.

You know tonights fight is a legit 50/50 fight and I am actually excited about it. I can't remember the last time I could have said that about a heavyweight fight.

Kinda want Wilder to win since he's the American citizen, but who the hell knows how long it'll be if Haymon lets him fight Klitschko.

Only Round 2, but fight's living up to the hype so far for me. Crowd's been into it.

Ooo after bell knockdown.

I get Stiverne wanting to take it to the later rounds, but he's not mounting any offense and Wilder's eating through his guard.

That counter by Stiverne changed the round. End of the 4th, every power punch has so much anticipation.

Shifting to Stiverne in the 4th. Uncharted territory for Wilder.

Whoa I don't think I blinked at that exchange. That slip could've been the end of the fight.

This crowd is awesome.

What a fight! Stiverne is in deep trouble though.

End of the 9th (!). Stiverne's punches definitely have less snap than Wilder's.

Wilder's winning this fight. Who's next for him? Klitchko?

Stiverne at most won maybe 4 rounds at best? Good smart fight for the most part from Wilder despite the lack of footwork. He controlled the fight with his jab, didn't call for Stiverne's traps, and his stamina held up for the most part as well while being the outside fighter. I don't really care about him ruining his KO ratio. Haymon better give us Fury, Povetkin, or Klitschko soon.

Klitschko isn't happening any time soon, he got a three fight deal and options for his future fights.
Haymon and HBO aren't going to be working together in the foreseeable future in my opinion esp for a Wald/Wilder fight.

Wilder put on a good performance, Stiverne really couldn't get into any offensive rhythm whatsoever. In the 12th when he put some pressure on Wilder, I was like "where was this 6-7 rounds ago?" Not sure what's next for the new WBC champ, it most likely won't be Klitschko.

Imam/Maldonado was fight of the night, very exciting action. Round 3 is an early ROTY candidate for 2015. Imam has serious pop but his balance didn't seem all that good...might susceptible to knockdowns. Looking forward to seeing him fight but the problem is he's a King fighter and they aren't exactly well promoted these days.

Santa Cruz with another dominant performance over a guy he should've beat, though there were times Ruiz made it tough. Time to see him in with top tier talent. Seemed like SHO was selling hard for a match with Mares.
