TUF 20: Women Strawweights

Post#1 » by Jasen777 » Sat Dec 14, 2013 4:53 am

The UFC has signed 11 Invicta fighters for the season, which will crown the initial UFC champion.

They're also being unusually generous and are paying the women 32K (presumably not to fight until the show).

Could be good as long as they don't mess it up by trying to throw male LHWs in there or something.

Coaches?

It's an all women show. No word on the coaches yet. I think they should have a season with no coaches.

Also alot of these fighters have fought other cast members before. (I haven't looked it up but I'd have to assume it's more the case than any previous seasons).

If someone made a thread called "what TUF season would you give absolutely no **** about whatsoever if it were to happen" the first two words out of my mouth would be "women" and "strawweights". Holy hell. Awell, I'll still watch because what else am I gonna do. I watch TUF Brazil without subtitles.

Well I find this one much more interesting than TUF 19.

Chuck Liddell and Matt Hughes should be the coaches for this one IMO.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. A legends coaching season, where there would be no focus on coaching drama or the coach fight at the end.

Even though I'm pissed that they have Pettis coaching instead of fighting, and I've been disappointed TUF every year, I ordered the Fox Sports 1 package primarily so I could watch this.

I'm a fan of Pettis, female fighters, and lower weight classes. Every fighter on the show should be a top 10 fighter, unlike the usual TUF seasons.

Enough with the fighter profiles, I'm only tuning in to see joanne calderwood teach these women a lesson.

Pettis easily got the better of the picks. They spoiled the outcome of the fight when they showed the bracket one time.

There's an inner city Milwaukee?

Am I the only one who thinks of Despicable me 2 every time I see her?

Hate the camera angles, but this should be a good season.

I have a feeling we'll see a lot of upsets in the bracket.

Tecia Torres has such great hips man, wow. Her guard retention is really good, she seemed dwarfed to me here and when her opponent was able to move up into high mount it was just game over.

That armbar attempt in the second round was beautiful.

I love that the small, quiet Scottish chick is a bad ass muay thai fighter. Hopefully she can avoid getting smothered.
