Don't know why Machida backed off the last few seconds...

If Machida would have fought like that from the get go, he could have won the fight.

He did **** all in rounds #1-3.

Awesome fight. I gave 4 rounds to Weidman, but what Machida did in the 4th round and the last minute of the 5th round was entertaining as hell. I'm still a fan of both of these guys. Props to both of them.

He timed and tired weidman out so that he could take over. If he works his way back up to a re-match he'll hopefully be able to take it out of weidman more in the early rounds. But that was a lot of fun to watch, not Machida-Mousasi fun, but still a blast and a fight I'd enjoy seeing a second time. Let the Chris learn from this for jacare's shot while lyoto bumps back down to maybe rockhold, assuming he wins his next fight, in a fight that should be dynamite and see where the land lies.

He couldn't, Weidman had too much energy for him the first three rounds.

Meh.

Weidman won pretty convincingly in the end...I'd need to see a lot from a 36 year old Machida to think he'd do better in a rematch.

Good fight, but enough with the rematches already.

He beat the GOAT twice, and beat a former LHW champion. That's not bad.

How did that one 49-45 scorecard come about, by the way? 10-8 round 3?

He replaced Duane. idk if it's official or if he is still on a trial period, been there awhile though.

Btw glad I didn't have to turn away from the Struve fight. Hopefully the UFC realizes the dodged a bullet tonight and tells the dude to take it easy. Bruh, your heart is leaking, your mma days may be behind you.

Surprised so many gave Weidman the 5th. One judge gave Machida the 2nd. The 8 is unusual, but IIRC that was more decisive than the first two rounds. We needs more 8's imo.
