Mayweather vs Maidana 2 Sept 13th

Post#1 » by Transistor » Thu Jul 3, 2014 3:55 am

Just making this thread to announce the fight, though I am not that excited for it. I didn't agree with the split decision and thought Mayweather won via UD.

At this point would have rather see him fight Khan or Bradley, as opposed to a rematch with Maidana.

Of course we all want to see him make the fight that is not to be spoken of

I have no problem with it. It was a fun and competitive fight and Maidana was the best available fight at 147. Shaun Porter's busy. Bradley's coming off a clear loss to Pacquio. Khan was unavailable for September because of Ramadan and in my opinion he didn't deserve the fight anyway. Unless Danny Garcia was moving up from 140 to challenge Money May there was no more deserving and available opponent.

I have no desire to see a rematch. Even though the first fight was extremely competitive, I thought Mayweather won fair and square. He made his adjustments and that will carry over into the rematch. I think he wins more convincingly this time around.

yeah i don't see the point to having this rematch. Money should pick him apart this time around especially if Maidana doesn't make any adjustment which i don't see him doing.

I'd much rather see this than Khan and I don't know that Thurman/Porter are quite there yet but I'd like to see those 2 fight each other first to get to Mayweather, hopefully that happens next year. I think this fight is logical to make because it was certainly the toughest fight I've seen Mayweather be in since probably Castillo.

I would be shocked if this fight was anywhere near as close as the last one.

Floyd will adjust and I feel that it will be an extremely one sided fight.

I put $200 on Maidana just for the hell of it, pay out is $1000.

I think it's a competitive fight again because Maidana has some pop and he's just awkward enough but Mayweather wins by a bit wider this time, maybe a round or 2 more(I had it 115-113 Floyd in May).

Undercard is full of mismatches, probably the worst one Showtime has put on for a Mayweather fight yet. Santa Cruz and Angulo are usually fun to watch though.

Its about to start, hoping for 2-3 electric first rounds and then the superior class of Floyd taking the fight to his side.

He's one of the all time greats... but refusing to fight Pac man has robbed us a generational match, and diminishes his undefeated record, probably the most fabricated and unimpressive undefeated champion ever.

El chino is winning this, that punch at the end of the 3rd really hurt Mayweather

Kind of prototipical Floyd fight, frustrating for the opponents and to a certain extent, for the fans, still, deserved the win.

I'm sure we all saw that coming. I don't think there was ever any question of who won the 1st fight to begin with.

Mayweather had already made adjustments to Maidana's style halfway through the first match. There was no way Maidana had a chance unless he knocked him out.

So much dictated by the ref. Maybe the same result, but it would have looked different if he couldn't just stop the action and have it re-started at his range anytime Maidana closed in.

Floyd has fought more aggro before. This was particularly defensive. Didn't want to get caught on the ropes.

Floyd complaining about "the bite", launching into hysterics and claiming afterwards that his hand was "numb"...LOL. Guy is wearing a mouthpiece and you're wearing a padded leather glove...

I wanna see Khan against Mayweather. I think Mayweather will win but he'll have to adjust to Khan's speed.
