Well Dana said that he's bigger than Brock and GSP (he didn't mention Rousey though).

I guess he can be considered elite now. Strange he hasn't faced an elite wrestler yet.

This is making me dislike McGregor. I don't appreciate the UFC's hard sell with him.

He's not bigger than Brock. He's not bigger than GSP. Ireland did not shut down for his fight.

He's gonna lose to either Aldo or Mendes, I think.

I think Cub Swanson is a terrible matchup for him.

An early stoppage, no? Cub. Wait not Cub, another guy. Immediately fell to guard.

I saw the faceplant, maybe the ref had to interpret that sign as time to jump in, but it wasn't as injurious as it looked that split second. Not-Cub had more.

That would be a fantastic fight. I usually don't like to pick off contenders, but that might be worth it.

Weird to see a man getting the Rousey treatment but I'm guessing the UFC see this as their best chance to push the lighter weights. I love him but can't watch his interviews. I am glad he's a real Irishman though and not some American with Irish grandparents or something like Marcus Davis.

Some people will always make excuses about not being convinced he's the real deal until he has the belt around him. At some point, you have to jump on the hype-train because the longer you leave it, the more likely you're just jumping on the bandwagon.

I think the guy is the real deal. Watching some of his CWFC fights, he still hasn't shown his entire game but he has allt he intangibles to be a champ. He's got great control of distance and his surroundings, he's got fantastic striking and I think his grappling is good enough for the division. The finish against Poirer moved my economy seat up on the hype-train to first class.

Also, $200k for less than 2 minutes of cage time. He's well on his way to

I want to be on the bandwagon early in terms of thinking he is good, but what does it mean to be "the real deal"?

I'm a believer that rankings should be a reflection of what you think will happen (which is based on what has actually happened), so he could be top 5ish already, but there are guys I would pick to beat him without much hesitation, and other guys I'd be 50/50 about.

I'd pick Aldo, Mendes, and Edgar to beat him, and put Swanson at about 50/50. Maybe actually give him a slight edge.

I'd have concerns about guys like Guida, but that may be an outdated view, and I'd still pick Conor to win.

We won't have to wait long to find out though. I'd be shocked if he didn't get the Aldo/Mendes winner.

(I don't know if I actually said anything here)

To be the real deal, I think you have to have what it takes to beat everyone in the divison to get to the champ and be at the very least competitive. I think stylistically, he has a better chance against Aldo than Mendes. If Aldo is still champ after 179, then I think Conor has a good shot at taking the belt.

I don't see what he has for Aldo, but at the same time, Aldo hasn't looked dominant in a while.
