BÅ‚achowicz!

One of those Euro guys I've often come across while killing time Fight Findering and being like, "holy crap, this guy has a good record... why isn't he in UFC?".

Bazagit Atajev approves this post.

Holloway replaces KZ. Nice, he should beat up Akira which was what I wanted to see from the start.

Story is the perfect test for Gunnar. Story is just aggressive and skilled enough to be a perfect gatekeeper type (not to pigeonhole him in that role). He's like the ww Joey Beltran. Anyone who is actually skilled and willing to apply it will beat him, but if you sleep on him he'll beat your ass.

I heard Ariel say on the mmabeat that Gunnar cuts zero weight for 170. Is this true? I know he isn't huge but I'm skeptical.

He last competed in 2011 at adcc at 88kgs which is an upper limit of like 195. The next lowest class was 77kgs which is 77kgs is almost exactly 170 right? Usually grappling contests are a truer tell of actual weight because they weigh in same day so there is much, much less cutting than mma. I can't imagine he has lost a ton of weight since going into mma.

Regardless, IF that is true, that's pretty crazy.

I hate missing out on seeing guys like Holloway, and having these cards dilute the ones that are actually available to the non MMA fan degenerate public. Fight Pass Never Live past tomorrow.

Nelson got exposed like I always thought he would with that indifferent striking d. He takes it to an extreme. His reaction to attempts at hitting him and then afterward is like if he was playing a board game, not fighting. You should care more about brain damage, man. It's like Dave Herman. He's Dave Herman with advanced bjj skills.

That said, Story did previously have some real quality wins in spite of recent struggles, and I did sense a turnaround thanks to a change of camps when watching his last fight. But he does lack range, footwork, and much kicking. His strength is heavily his boxing combos. So a karate guy with kicks should be able to have an advantage in that match-up if he's good. He's not overall though. It's all the lulls when he is in striking distance for opponents that are the problem.

This will probably fly under the radar because 1) nobody was watching this event and 2) the right guy won, but how did one judge score that 48-47 Nelson?

That **** needs to be called out.

The Siver/De Rosa fight was FOTN for me, imo. One of the judges scored it 50-44?

That was a bit unexpected for me so. Kinda sad that all? the swedes lost at home? Aw!

Lets see how much Gunnar can improve for his next fight.

I think 50-44 Story is far more reasonable than 48-47 Nelson.

The 49-46 people seem to have given Nelson rd 1, and I'm not completely sure why. Maybe I need to watch it again.

Round...4? Where Story was punching him on the ground from standing position and IMO close to finishing could have been scored 10-8. I was thinking that until Nelson got back up and was somewhat competitive in the last few minutes.

I encourage liberal use of the 10-8, but I'm more concerned about guys flat out picking the wrong winner of the round.

Great maincard.

Latifi against Blachowicz...sheet, hands being winged, frightening. I want to see more from both.

Nelson barely threw kicks, unsure why.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Nelson looked bad... little power, Kampmann-level hittable, waaaaaay too much movement in the early rounds. Talking about how he knew Story has a good gas tank and pressure and ****. Yeah, spinning WTF kicks two minutes into a 25 minute fight, genius.

And the Toronto Greek won. About time we have accomplishments beyond excelling at dropping out of school and chain smoking in track suits.
