The last few minutes specifically, but the whole thing is worth watching.

That's what I love about Mark Hunt. His personality is so real and even though he didn't go into detail into his troubles outside the cage, you can't but have sympathy for him (not that he cares).

I am worried about his mindset though. A month or so out from the Roy Nelson fight he sent out that tweet about being unemployed etc and it was really confusing. Now it seems he's having issues at home and when asked how he thinks things are going to go down on Saturday, he's seemed so detached from it

What I'm hoping is that he just had an argument or something really close to having to do the interview, so he's all pissed off and in that "**** everything I don't care anymore" mood. If this is an ongoing thing I'd be worried if I were in his camp.

That's no argument with his wife, that's his home falling apart. Finishing the interview, it's painful to watch.

Not only does he "not care" and "nothing matters" but in the very same interview he recollects how so many of his losses came at times where he was dealing with stuff outside of the ring. The belief that he loses when emotionally distracted + an intense emotional distraction upon which he's reflecting...that's bad news, that's not he psyche to take into the ring.

It's the UFC's responsibility to put on a competitive fight. This is their main event and one of the fighters is totally despondent. They need to get the man a psychologist ('sport' or otherwise) and try to facilitate communication between him and his household. Not being able to hug your kids while - presumably - your household is dissolving?? Ugh. That's terrible.

This is not going to be a competitive fight.

Nevermind the weight loss, need for short notice training, foreign land, altitude, polluted/congested - as - **** Mexico City.

You're probably right but I dunno, he is a hyper emotional guy. He did retire for about 30 seconds not that long ago  he seems very moody generally. It could be a disaster for the UFC if he wins given this sort of stuff.

Three weeks notice, massive weight cut, high altitude, personal issues... if it were any other fighter, I'd say they had virtually zero chance. But Hunt is the epitome of a puncher's chance.

If Hunt is/was at 276, then it sounds like he is more prepared for this fight than he was for his last one.

IDK, obviously the emotion/family stuff is one thing. But IDK how much I'm buying the short notice excuse. He had ~4 weeks to prepare, and had fought almost exactly a month prior by the time it was released that he was filling in (that prior fight lasted like 2 minutes).

My point is, if he has no chance against Werdum this Saturday (I don't believe that), then he would also probably have had no chance if he had fought Werdum on the card he fought Roy on like 1.5 months ago.

I would not be surprised if Hunt had not been in a gym one single time in that month after the Roy fight and before getting notice of this one. Not a gym rat or a health enthusiast.

That's my point though. Hunt was 284 the DAY BEFORE the Roy fight. So if he is 276 now (or was whenever that was filmed), he is already ahead of where he was.

Whoa, apparently Dana said Cain could be stripped if he can't fight by March (my interpretation is that he's definitely not fighting by March). I think him being out of the Mexico event must have really pissed off Dana.

Well they have to at some point, but would the Werdum/Hunt winner even be ready to go then?

They going to strip Cain so Hunt can defend the official title against Arlovski? (For the record, I do actually think Werdum will win).

Anyways, this is seems like a big issue for MMA in general. Top fighters just can't go that often. Do they want Cain to come back injured so he can get Ko'd again? Why would Cain?

Hunt made 265, didn't seem strained. Werdum by TKO 3rd round.

So many first timer Mexicans on the prelims (and the first fight of the main).

Mexican fans cheering for Werdum...chanting, singing.

Not a deep card for PPV, only care about 3 fights on it.

To be fair that makes it like the 3rd deepest ppv of the year for the ufc.
