I know they've been getting finishes, but the pacing :noway: Not even coming close to filling the dead from watching something else at the same time...

I haven't watched a fight on this card so far but I'd be lying if I didn't say I was happy to see Fili lose. Call me a hater, but I was a fan until I heard his mma hour interview. He kept talking about how he fights in the streets a lot, I just can't understand for the life of me what a trained professional fighter could ever get out of beating up random schmoes at a bar or whatever.

See? Why does Burns fight like that? I know he knows that Dana likes to watch bros bang, so he wants to bang bros for Dana, but finally after getting beat up on the feet for two rounds he shoots. Gets the takedown, passes to mount immediately, goes omoplata, the guys rolls out so he transitions to side control, back to mount then armbar. Just do that right away without taking the damage first man.

Honestly I'd say he's lucky Thomson pulled out based on how he looked for most of that fight.

Despite Shayna having a bad personality, have to kind of feel for her in some ways. She is beyond shot, I hope the ufc doesn't keep sending her out there. The last few fights have been hard to watch, with her catching bad *sswhippings every time out.

Let's see Nunes vs Holm?

I hope Kos is as finished as Shayna.

One of the worst stoppages in history.

I mean I've heard a few guys say that they prefer the half guard guillotine to the full guard because they they can get more of an angle, but tbh I've never seen something like that finished on anyone good. He was working for the crossface from the top, if that idiot hadn't stopped the fight, he would have probably passed within 10 seconds. Ugh.

I'm hoping Silva finishes in spectacular fashion without damaging Kos too much. That way people can get high on Erick again and I can win more money betting against him. Fading Silva has been very profitable to date but I just couldn't pull the trigger this time.

What a weird world. Read fightnomics. The probability of fighter's getting subbed decreases exponentially as they get older. There are videos of Kos rolling with bjj world champions and threatening passes and looking great. The he gets subbed by guys like Ellenberger and Silva. Its pretty clear he has just shown up for the paycheck the last few times. He didn't try ANYTHING to fight off that choke.

This pic is circling the internet. Apparently this is Leandro Silva (beneficiary of the worst stoppage in mma history - see above gif) along with his friend and training partner - the ref who committed said terrible stoppage.

Not to start THIS conversation in another thread - but after seeing how rapidly Koscheck's career deteriorated after having GSP break his orbital and pound on his face all night long - it does make me a little nervous being a fan of Pettis. Man, unforgiving sport.

What about the ref? Does it look like him? Because if the ref is truly a black belt (or hell, even a blue belt), then that was sketchy as hell.

Definitely looks like the ref, but I think he's with a different guy named Leandro Silva there. either way, it's an awful stoppage, regardless of the dude's belt rank.

Maia chains passing combinations as good as anyone. Let's see how his cardio holds up.

Laflare reverses a takedown, Maia in guard. Maia kicks a leg through for single leg x and attacks a heel hook and Laflare panics and Maia back on top.

Disgraceful from Maia in the 5th. La Flare wins if it goes 6, IMO.
