Rumble is an even bigger fool than we thought. What was he thinking trying to grapple with Daniel? That wasn't the adjustment he needed to make from last fight.

Ah well, happy for Daniel he didn't take a beating again, one way or another, because he's such a nice guy.

LOL YES!

Wow, Rumble loses to RNC more than Hendricks misses weight. I'm so glad the hype train is officially dead. Again.

RIP Rumble. There is no coming back from this. Good.

Rumble's kinda dumb. Has championship tools but not championship fight IQ.

Anyways, props to DC. Dude is a beast. Just squeezes the life out of his opponents. Genius level wrestling.

Love DC. Thought he was getting KO'ed tonight but there's more to mma than dropping bombs and head kicks. Sounds like Rumble wanted to call out his coaches on that gameplan but they were halfway back to the hotel.

DC trolled Jones pretty well there. Jones couldn't say anything.

It's a shame we never got to see Rumble/Jones. Rumble really could have been the one to beat Jones.

That was painfully awkward too, "where are my coaches?". Rumble knows he's not good enough to be champion. He didn't come into this fight thinking retirement either. DC completely broke him and ended his career.

If he does stick to retirement, the UFC is going to really regret letting guys like Bader go.

Least surprising moment of the night is Henry Hooft proving to be the type of coach to leave a defeated fighter in the ring.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

I missed that. What did he say to Jones?

I hope DC beats the crap out of him.

He just updated his twitter page with a bunch of LA Rams hashtags, and an LA RAms cover photo. I'm really confused.

He's going to play Football?
Good luck, lesnar did the same during his prime...don't think it'll work out too well for him at his age.

He refuted the rams thing on Twitter, so that's not it.

I'd guess military or something,

I don't fall for his fake act.

On another note, I definitely jumped the gun on the whole "he wasn't coming into this fighting thinking retirement", it's hard to say that's the reason why he began to wrestle with DC and threw the gameplan out the window, and though Henri Hooft and the other coaches shouldn't have left him dry like that, I can see where their frustration comes from.

Even if Rumble does come back, the hype around him will always be finished. Would a Rumble-Bones fight excite anyone anymore?

Put on Rumble's highlight reel and the hype returns instantly. He has the most frightening power in the sport and he's won 12 in a row against guys not named DC.

Masterful skill on display by Gegard there to ensure the knee was legal. Hamming it up and playing the game ended up screwing over Weidman. That fight was turning bad for him really fast. War Mousasi.

Okay, I'm being facetious here. But seriously, Chris played the game and got got by the game. The hands on the ground thing is stupid anyway when a fighter is standing. But also the rolling around in pain for however long after...either he was hamming it up or else he was TKOed or about to be TKOed.

Also, do you guys realize that he actually has to have his palms on the ground to be considered "down"? Watching live, I thought he was down if his fingers were touching and I still said that he was up. If you know the rule that its a legal strike if his palms weren't on the ground then it becomes an easier call for the ref IMO.

No. I think MMAJunkie has the audio transcript of his corner during the fight. They were flabbergasted that he was wrestling. They probably left because they realized that he's the dumbest fighter in the sport for fighting like that.

Round 1
Voice: Take your time. Nice. Take your time. Don’t take him down.

Hooft: Don’t wrestle him.

Voice: If you’re going to go, go single.

Hooft: You don’t have to wrestle him, AJ. Just relax.

Voice: Don’t wrestle him.

Hooft: Get out of there. Get out of there.

Grappling coach Neil Melanson: OK, stud. Now, let’s get your hands hot.

Voice: Why is he wrestling him?

Hooft: This is stupid.

Voice: Why is he wrestling him?

Hooft: (Expletive) it, man. Just get off the cage.

Voice: Get out of there.

Voice: Why isn’t he listening?

(Johnson and Cormier are broken up by referee John McCarthy, and Johnson lands kicks.)

Voice: He’s tired already, DC. He doesn’t need to do this.

Voice: Why isn’t he listening?

Hooft: I don’t know why he’s doing that. We have no (expletive) eyes.

Break between Round 1 and Round 2
Hooft: Can you tell me why you’re wrestling? Now, you’re not going to wrestle. You take your distance. Stay away, two steps away. Why are you so worried about everything? The kicks and the knees are really good, but no kicks. Where’s your hands?

Voice: You’re doing great. Don’t (expletive) wrestle him.

Hooft: If you stand your distance, it’s an easy game. Why make it difficult?

Round 2
Hooft: Movement. Athletic. Movement. That’s it. Take your distance.

(Johnson reverses against the cage and goes for another takedown)

Hooft: You need distance.

Hooft: I’m not saying nothing.

(Cormier has Johnson on the mat and is setting up a choke)

Hooft: It’s going the same as last time.

(Johnson submits to Cormier via rear-naked choke)

Hooft: Why, why the (expletive) does this happen every (expletive) time, man? Crazy.
