WWE Payback (April 30th, 2017)

Image
United States Championship (Winner goes to Smackdown Live!): Kevin Owens vs Chris Jericho

Image
WWE Championship (House of Horrors Match): Randy Orton vs Bray Wyatt

Image
Raw Tag Team Championship: The Hardy Boyz vs Cesaro & Sheamus

Image
WWE Cruiserweight Championship: Neville vs Austin Aries

Image
Roman Reigns vs Braun Strowman

Image
Seth Rollins vs Samoa Joe

Image
Raw Women´s Championship: Bayley vs Alexa Bliss

It´s a solid card overall, even without the Universal Championship.

Predictions:
Kevin Owens over Chris Jericho
Randy Orton over Bray Wyatt
Hardy Boyz remain champions
Austin Aries wins
Braun Strowman over Roman Reigns
Seth Rollins wins
Alexa Bliss will be new champion

Its an ok card. Nothing spectacular to be honest but its not terrible by any stretch of the imagination. Hardyz would be a highlight if we at least had broken matt.

Looks like a damn good card to me. Not a weak looking match here, IMO. Maybe a couple matches that are repetitive (KO vs. Jericho, Reigns vs. Strowman) but we at least know those guys can all work really well together. I'm actually really looking forward to the Reigns vs. Strowman match. Those dudes have great chemistry with their story.

The House of Horrors match is not a WWE Championship match according to the WWE website. They really booked themselves in a corner with the shakeup.

No reason for Wyatt to lose now.

What's the point then? Wyatt not getting his rematch for the title? He wins and isn't champ? Really really stupid if you ask me.

The worst part about the Wyatt match is that he's probably still going to to lose. If Wyatt wins, he should be the #1 contender for Lesnar and it would make Smackdown look "weak". I don't see that happening.

it should have been like the us title situation.

Whoever won the match comes to smackdown as champ, because stuff it, it would have given creative (and vince by default) a bit of leeway.

I don't see why they'd make it non-title unless Wyatt is going to win. If he's losing anyway, why not make it a title match so it feels more important?

Plus, Wyatt is on Raw now, and Vince loves to try to force the idea that Raw is superior to Smackdown.

On paper the matchups look great, but the build up for them has been awful.

The shake up crossover confusion hasn't helped. They should have wrapped up those feuds before the shuffle.

I have been completely uninterested in RAW for the past few weeks, so I honestly have no desire to watch this on Sunday. First time in a while that I haven't had at least a little bit of interest in a PPV.

The shuffle should have been the Monday after Payback, and Payback should have been a co-branded show. Wrap up all your 'Mania feuds at Payback, then shuffle everyone.

He certainley won't get a title shot! Wyatt is gonna lose that match and will perish somewhere in the RAW roster. RAW has its own contenders for the main card and in this relation there won't be no changes.

Jericho wins. So does Owens go to Raw or Smackdown?

Owens goes back to Raw, and Jericho to Smackdown with the belt.

Except it is being reported that Owens has a title match vs AJ Styles at Backlash(Smackdown ppv)

Can't believe they gave Jericho the W there. Maybe that report about Vince being upset at Owen's look is accurate...

Wait what?

Nah screw this company, are you telling me Smackdown isn't even getting Owens. **** this.

as it stands, this PPV so far i'm 9 cornette's/10, you call this a PPV, this is more like a bad episode of RAW (about as bad as raw last week also).

To be honest IIRC the stipulation only ever said that if Jericho won he would be transferred to Smackdown. It did not say that Owens would return to Raw
