helluva start.

it's kinda odd that the fans are so far from the ring, and where the main cameras filmed from

Machine gun and Doc are a better team than some believe, these two teams should pull out a good match like they did a month ago

was good. got better as the night went on and got a little more used to the pace.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kota Ibushi is an early match of the year candidate

Yeah, I'm watching it now. He didn't seem to know how to call the early shenanigans at the beginning of the tag match. I know he hates that style.

For as annoying as Striker is sometimes, he did a good job of pulling JR into it.

I think JR's performance was uneven for the first hour of the show. You could tell he spent the lion's share of his prep on the top matches and top guys. So those first hour were primarily the opening spot fest and then the two largely throwaway matches. I liked his call in the 4th match bringing up their MMA histories. After that, it seemed like he had a much greater knowledge of the guys and he didn't lean on Striker quite as much. He was tremendous in the last 3 matches as I think those were the guys he had the greatest familiarity with and that was when it finally felt like I was hearing the JR I grew up with.
