Could be, or they could be playing it up as if this is the case to keep people off the scent for his main roster debut.

He's being "attended to"

I just read that Finn waved goodbye to the crowd after the match. He gone.

They will probably debut him on the main roster at Payback. It will be interesting to see how they play this out. Will he help AJ win the title or cost him the title? I personally want an AJ, Balor, Gallows and Anderson union. AJ as champ, Finn as IC champ and Gallows and Anderson with the tag team titles. Have them feud with Reigns untill Summerslam where we see the reformation of the shield with Rollins back.

Keep the Wyatts away from The Bullet Club until WM season. Easy money.

If Balor is debuting at the PPV, I would have rather haf him just show up. He could always drop the belt after the debut or be stripped, I don't like the obvious way hes being called up & how The Balor Club has been plastered all over his twitter for months.

Pretty sure this was a house show. Wasn't recorded for television.

he dropped it on a house show? are they mad, considering how long the reign went they're going to deny the network customers like that  i'm all for unpredictability but why not end it at takeover dallas?

bit stupid if this doesn't make TV (i am sure this will be on TV somehow)

It was a house show, not a TV taping.

They did have cameras in the building though, so there's footage popping up already and they'll probably show highlights next week.

Probably a last minute call up by Vince. Would have made more sense to lose in Dallas. The problem is that since NXT is taped weeks in advance they wouldn't have time to record and air an episode in time before his debut. Maybe it's a way for NXT to say "hey you better come out to the shows because these things can happen"

Yeah it's tough to do something shocking considering NXT is taped. A house show title loss is really old school. Pretty sure this hasn't happened since Diesel/Backlund in '95.

My guess is we now get the start of Finn and AJ feud. Should be fun.

I think they decided they wanted Finn to break the record for longest NXT title reign given that Neville hasn't gained any traction on the main roster, and so they had him win in Dallas. Finn is pretty much set to debut in a big way with the Bullet Club, which will instantly make him a star worth watching. I can see why they'd want him to be the guy they bring up as the gold standard for a former NXT champion.

Agreed. Feels pretty cool. I don't think it should be a regular occurrence, but once every few years is fine.

and whose fault is it that he gained no traction on the main roster, thats right vince and his idiotic hollywood writers. Hard to get any momentum with those clowns booking the show

I'm not saying it's Neville's fault, although his size coupled with his inability to cut a promo certainly didn't give him any advantages over other guys. The main roster's booking is generally awful unless your last name is Cena or Reigns. They also saddled Neville with a stupid gimmick, which didn't help his odds of getting over.

My point remains, though, that NXT likely wanted Balor to be their new standard bearer.

Happened with the tag titles not too long ago when Air Boom had them. Bourne got busted for the wellness policy and dropped them to Primo & Epico at a house show.

Just last month Joe was rumored to be going up to the main roster and now he's the champ. He's coming up on almost a year in NXT iirc, wonder how long they keep him there? If Joe does get called up around SummerSlam, that NXT roster is going to start looking a little slim with only Nakamura (who could very well be called up soon as well) Kenta and possibly AA at the top of the card.

ETA - Roode could be there too, I think. Haven't heard anything about him since Take Over: Dallas though.

All those bad teams yet the WWE couldn't figure out anything for the Rhodes Scholars.
