Im going to miss Gerald. Only thing that ever held him back was his inability to make a deep shot consistently.

Hendo is a good player. Better than serviceable. I think he'll be a decent fit here...off the bench. Hopefully he'll be the player we thought we were getting in AAA.

I feel like as if we lost one of the hard-working, fan favourite types of guys. His lack of a three pointer holds Hendo back and makes his game out-dated, but he's a good defender, works diligently and by all accounts is a good guy to have around your locker room. I consider Vonleh to be the main piece of this trade for you guys, but Henderson could be a solid third guard for you guys if he finds a way to fit in.

Here's an overall outlook on him as a player and on his last season if anyone's interested:

if Henderson isn't moved, then there is a strong indication that at least one of Matthews and/or Afflalo will not be back.

Maybe both. No need to pay Wes 15 mill if LMA is gone. 100% sure AAA is gone, Hendo is exactly like him but with less 3 point shooting. He is just cheaper at 6mill a year.

I don't know why people think he is coming off the bench. He will be starting.

Yeah, it would appear pretty positively that Afflalo and Matthews are both gone.

i believe he's good insurance policy in case if wes and afflalo receive headscrating payment from other team.

consummate professional. You guys are going to be amazed at some of his dunks. The best part is they're so random you don't even expect it and next thing you know he's tearing down the backboard. He's also a capable defender both 1 on 1 and in the team concept. He has a pretty decent midrange game and every once in a while he can fill it up. I think watching Gerald is like a time capsule to the 80s/early 90's NBA. He came along 20 years too late. Still though at 6 mill he can be a valuable guy off the bench for sure especially if he has a couple of shooters beside him.

You'll hate his turnaround fadaways with his foot on the line in the corner and you'll hate it every time he passes up a wide open 3. He's average, but he does some things that in my opinion are undervalued in today's NBA. He'll be a good locker room presence and a decent pickup.

Looks like he's hurt already. Bad sign?

Tokito says he should be ready for training camp..

I'm curious about the boards perspective on SG this year. Last year, Stotts offense relied heavily on LMA and 3s. Since Stotts lost LMA and perimeter shooting took a big hit this year, the assumption s whole sale changes.

Henderson can D, but isn't a consistent 3 point threat. McCullum can shoot, but he's under sized. SG and SF seems like an obvious target for upgrade IF the Blazers want to put a premium on perimeter shooting.

What is Hndersons future with the Blazers?

If the young guys play "respectable ball", at least for the fans...I would expect Henderson and Kaman gone by the trade deadline.

Hendo is not trade bait, he is a good player. Before the Hornets got AL Jefferson and his LMA-esque Iso ball, Hendo was a big part of their offense and averaged 16ppg 20ppg and 17ppg in the final 3 months of that year with Kemba in the backcourt.

I am actually a bit more excited about Hendo after reading that post on BE about him and looking at his gamelog/highlights/Stats over the past 3 years in the NBA.

He is a 15-16ppg player when playing starter mins, maybe more if a integral part of the offense like he was in Charlote before AL arrived.

I will always remeber that game he had against us in 2013/2014 where he kept killing us with his turnaround jump shot. He is also athletic so, basically AAA with better finishing ability and lower 3pt% but he is decent from out there, shooting 33% 35% and 33% over the past 3 years So you can't leave him iwde open, and if you do, he has a really good mid-range jumpshot he can get into.

Watching more o his highlights from before they got Al. He ran so much more PnR. Seems like a good operator out of the pnR and penetrates well. I mean the guy scores as well as Wes and rebounds better, not the 3 point shooter Wes is but I don't get why people think he is a trade throw in. He might be better than Batum. If Terry puts the ball in his hands and asks him to facilitate like he did for Nic, I really think he can put up Nic's Ast numbers.

As others have said Hendo just seems outdated in today's league. He's solid but the 3 ball is so big nowadays that unless someone is exceptionally good at the rim they aren't gonna be a key component to a championship team

Ridiculous, Wilson Chandler is on a Den team that is anything but win-now and they just re-signed him, You gotta have some proven vets on your team that are good player that can grow with your team. It is not like he is 30 or something.
