#4 last year in terms of rebound percentage and another 6'10"+ player under 26. The Lakers thought they would steal our PF but we stole theirs...

well, that's a serviceable player on a reasonable deal.

I love the deals that come out of nowhere, and when we steal from the Lakers!

Apparently Davis was the #4 total percentage rebounder in the league last season.

Another player can that can't hit foul shots. Teams are going to have fun hacking us...

What an adequate signing this is. I look forward to several years of serviceable production at a fair price.

as far as ex-laker PF's, I would have much preferred Jordan Hill, but I'd imagine he'll be more expensive and we know it's budget time

Value wise, great price for Ed. If we're rebuilding though? I sure hope the plan is to display him and trade him this year, all these reasonable deals with mediocre talent are going to keep us from a good lottery pick.

That is so....reasonable. Blazers acquiring lots of Bigs because Dame and CJ are going to jack up 20 shots a game each.

It's hard to get mad at the signing other than it being a let-down from Monroe. Especially if LA leaves, it's a bit hard to get excited about it.
If LA stays, it does give Portland a very strong big man rotation. If they bring back Robin, or go out and get a guy like Kanter, they should have a lot of bulk up front.

I'm not the biggest fan of Monroe, so I wasn't let down by the setting other than any possible indication re: LMA. I would've rather gone after Jordan than Monroe (though I do appreciate his offensive post game).
I'm just not a big fan of guys who stay in the east because it's "an easier path to the playoffs." Those kinds of players would've never made it in the west.

At face value this is a great deal. Fit-wise I'm not so sure.
We obviously still need ballhandling and playmaking. And then Plumlee/Davis seems like a pretty poor frontcourt combo if you're looking for flexibility and spacing since neither one of those guys can hit a shot outside 10 feet and neither is a great rim protector, although both are solid enough defensively and finishing around the rim.

I will not say that Ed Davis is a better player then Monroe but for the Value aka the money tied up in a player i think i like Davis more then Monroe in terms of risk and reward.

they have 11 players, and 6 of the 11 can play PF and/or C. Aminu can play SF too. That makes a pretty heavy big man roster without the context of the final roster. I think Aldridge would be the only other big they'd add, but I'm counting him long gone
what they need is a shot creator and more wing depth

It's possible. He certainly isn't having anything to do with Rolo and wes

I'm surprised more players don't think like this. I mean, if you can make ECFs or get bounced in the first round out west, seems like an easy choice.
