how about some decent, watchable basketball, even that would feel like a win after past two games
season is already over, use it to get best of Nurkic, I cant see anything more useful than that

For Christmas this year, I'd like to see 50% PnR/PnP with Nurkic in this game.

I prefer 30+ minutes and around 12 fgas for Vonleh.

Bring it in fellas you don't deserve an early break but you'll get one. I always find it funny how NBA players don't want to tank cause that means a young upshot is gonna come and just take your place, like McCollum did to Wes when we tanked at the end of 2012.

Well the way these guys were playing outside of our top 3. I hope they get replaced this draft. Give me Tatum/Isaacs/Bridges/Laurri.

Bridges should be going later too.. I don't want him, but if you do shouldn't have to spend our pick on him most likely.

Whoops, Nvmd, for some reason I spaced and was thinking of Giles. Yea I like Bridges potential too, although I think he's going to need to be a 3&D player with potential to be a high level cutter if he plays intelligently. Although if he can lock down a better handle (not out of the question), he could really become good.

I like a cluster of Markkanen/Isaac/Bridges with our first pick.

Isaac is probably my favorite out of the prospects that could end up in the Blazers range, I think that he potentially offers a lot of what the Blazers need, some shooting with solid weakside rim protection should come fairly quickly for him IMO. I don't necessarily know if he's capable of reaching his vast potential though.

I'd also be willing to take a shot at R. Williams, I'm not sold at him at the next level... but I do think that he can fairly immediately fill a role of being a good defender who chases opposing 4s around at a high level, even if he's struggling to bring much else off the bat.

Markkanen could end up being really great offensively, I just worry that with the current team construction his defense is going to be an issue. At worst he turns into to a super rich man Meyers Leonard though, and that's already an upgrade.

The nice thing about the guys on the list, is that many of them can already fill a role for the Blazers if they just hit their perceived potential floor. They will be going to a team that has plenty of shot creation on offense, but a team that needs some niche things, which I think many of these guys can bring right off the bat, while they hopefully follow the work ethic lead of Portland's best players and can progress in areas that they are currently deficient at.

Every single player that the Blazers can pick is going to have issues. Most will end up (hopefully) being rotational pieces. Lauri's 'historic' shooting got completely wiped out simply by Oregon switching on defense. He HAS to be a stretch 5 and he'll get obliterated on defense by both PF and C in the NBA. He's fine as a 15 min/gm 3pt specialist. I would bet that he isn't going to evolve into more than that. That being said, I'd trade him straight up for Meyers in about .006 seconds.

After looking at it from a stats perspective all I want is Zach Collins. He'd be the perfect backup to Nurkic, IMO.

Fox, Ferguson and Monk will be busts, IMO. Why Ferguson is as high as he is boggles my mind. He's literally bottom, outlier bad in every statistic that is supposed to be his possible strength--spot up shooting. His defensive numbers and turnovers are gawdawful. I guess it's because scouts over value run and jump athletes? I get that he's playing with full grown Aussies, but it's not like the NBA is going to be any easier on him. Anyway, I rant...

Tonight should be a good game. I expect San Antonio to exploit the blind spots in the Stotts defense--the mid-range and the 3pt line. If the Blazers pass the ball and limit turnovers they have a chance to win.

I look to games like this as what it will look like in the playoffs for this roster...both teams playing at a slower and more deliberate pace.

Hopefully Lillard and CJ both watched film and realize that chucking isn't going to win this team any games. Between them they should be averaging 10 assists at the bare minimum.

This is going to come across as a knee jerk reaction, but it's been building up for a while with me. That second score that the Spurs got is the perfect example as to why a Lillard/Stotts lead team will never win it all. Lillard dogs it on defense ALL THE TIME. Nurkic made the switch, and Lillard just floated off into the middle of the court, not finding anybody to guard besides the man that Harkless already had. He is James Harden lazy on defense sooooo often, and Stotts allows it. For this team to take it to the next level, someone needs to hold Lillard accountable. It's pathetic

I have to admit. I got a bit gitty watching Vonleh take Aldridge to the hole and score on him.

Lillard needs to wake up on defense, he's just trotting on that end far too often. Unlike Fitz, I'm going to give him some slack on the cross court pass where it looked like he was confused, more than lazy. But man, he needs to freaking stop jogging on defense... Perception is reality, and he's "looks" like he's loafing it on defense right now. He's had multiple slow closeouts, he's jogging around as his assignment is sprinting... If I was convinced we were revving up the tank I'd be all for it, but I don't get that feeling yet, we'll see how long, and how many of the youngsters hit the court tonight.

I get irrationally mad watching Leonard, how the **** is his rebounding and defensive technique this bad at this point. Watching him just lean his whole body the wrong way on defense is embarrassing. Watching tiny players take rebounds right in front of him, and then he swing his arm wildly to attempt to jar it from their grip... The guy shouldn't even be in the NBA, and he's making $10 million, so freaking brutal.
