Huge Blockbuster brewing between Pistons and Blazers

Hey guys, figured I would sign up for the forums since I come here to see basketball news once and a while. Anyway, I'll cut to the chase, I have a source within the Blazers organization who told me something big is going to happen after all star weekend concludes. He said he didn't know any names involved, just that the two teams have been talking for a while now and apparently things are really heating up. I'll try to keep you guys updated with whatever I find out. You are probably thinking I am just blowing smoke, and that's is fine, I understand it is hard for anyone to believe that someone posting on a forum has a source within an NBA organization, but whatever I thought I would post it anyway. Go Blazers!

Seems like we would only be interested in Prince or Stuckey, but I don't see Detroit trading them, since that is their future.

But I don't think Afflalo and "Huge Blockbuster" really fit in the same sentence. Maybe "filler" or even "sweetener."

I assume it would have to be Prince, but fear it could be AI.

Some may find my next comment surprising considering my history.

Do not LOCK this thread ... YET

Let's let this brew a little and see where it goes as long as it does not get out of hand. I am skeptical but if some can have some blind faith in TBpup let's let this new poster have some rope. He will either turn it into a lasso and catch us a great trade rumor that turns into a real trade OR he will hang himself with it.

Sheed for Roy, LA and Oden. Bring it on! :D

Seriously though, I'm not going to place much trust in this guy right now. Would I want Prince? OF COURSE, assuming the price is respectable. Unfortunately, I find it hard to trust a ballboy making such a bold statement on his first post. If he's right, I'll bite my tongue, but unfortunately, I'm not seeing it.

Awww man, Prince! That would be so awesome! I would love to see that! We'd have to send back something other than Raef though, Outlaw at least, maybe Rudy too, hopefully not. I can see why they'd want us to take back Maxiel, he makes $5 million per for 3 years with a player option on a 4th. Tay makes $21 million over the next two years. Here's a possible idea:

Portland trades:
Raef's contract
Travis Outlaw
Nicholas Batum
Shavlik Randolph

for

Tay
Kwame Brown
Jason Maxiel

Brown has sucked in Detroit, he's just in it for filler and to get them out of his contract a year early. Whether Portlnad needs to throw in Batum is debatable. With Tay, we may not have a lot of PT for Batum, their games are obviously pretty similar. But maybe if we're taking all this salary we dont' have to add him, and can give them a draft pick instead?

Hey, is there anyway the OP can PM you (or any other mod) to reveal his sources, and then you guys can relate that info to us if this dude is legit or not?

I really don't want to get my hopes up, yet, I also don't want to dismiss this as nothing.

I think Detroit would trade Prince. He makes $21 million the two years after this, and his stats don't really warrant that kind of money. I don't know if you've heard, but the city of Detroit is especially hard up during this economic crisis, so it is conceivable the Pistons would like to unload their big contracts and get Raef's insurance contract. The Pistons are rebuilding, we make this deal and they rebuild with Outlaw, Batum and Stuckey, but shave $45 million off their payroll.
