I wonder what he means by that tweet though.

I mean the first part is pretty straightforward - but with the 2nd? can be taken both positively and negatively concerning us.

Its a bit of a slippery slope for the players the likely want to defend DMC but they have to be very careful as to what they say .

Considering that he'll most likely be back, what do you expect them to say? I did find it interesting that Evans said "hopefully he'll get it together"....

Yeah, there definitely is a little bit of a feeling of "Yeah, I hope he get his s*** figured out."

Side note: Why are people definitely saying Westphal is gone at the end of the year? I wouldn't be upset to see him go at all at this point, but I was just wondering why you guys thought that, given that management seems to be just so damn behind him.

Silver lining: getting to laugh and shake your head at the idiotic trades fans from other teams think up...

"Hey guys, we'll gladly take Cousins off your hands for <insert backup caliber prospect here> and a 2nd round pick"

The blatant stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me. Yes, the Kings are going to sell at the lowest possible time on the player they thought would be a savior just over a year ago. Are you all really serious?

Since his contract is up? I can't imagine him getting re-signed after having the worst winning % of a Kings coach.

Just now watching Westphal's interview after all of this. I wish the reporters had pressed him a little bit more on why he went public with it. That's the main issue here. They asked him and he said "Well if I hadn't you guys would have had a lot of questions for me." Their response should have been "Yes, and you wouldn't have had to answer them."

He also got really defensive when Amick asked him the specifics of the interchange--that Demarcus' words were more like "Well if you don't like me, why don't you just trade me?"

I dont care if he goes now or not . I just believe that if he goes now likely Smart will be the coach if so they have to believe in Smart long term . If not go get a coach like a JEFF VAN GUNDY or someone of that caliber .

They don't have much choice here, really.

Like I posted earlier, you can't just fire Westphal because it enables Cousins (and it'll be something he'll never be able to live down). Not only that, but if the Kings didn't back Westphal now, what coach in his right mind would even consider coming here? The Kings are only behind him because he's the coach and not being behind him sends a horrible message.

He'll be gone by the end of the season due to all of the problems we have now:
- Horrible results
- No improvement
- Horrible in-game coaching at pretty much every level
- Alienating players left and right (from rookies, to young guys, to veterans)

Well from my understanding, the management backed his statement--like, as in, gave him the go ahead to post it. There's backing a guy for PR reasons, and then there's giving him the go-ahead to post a statement like that.

I will say now at this point PW & DMC together is like a ticking time bomb.
One or the other must go NOW . I firmly believe that it is PW that must go ( he sucks anyways ) I have always said the only reason why he looked good when coaching the SUNS was because he had a very experienced verteran team in K.J. , BARKELY , MARJLE , CHAMBERS , HORNACEK , AINGE to name a few so he really didnt need to coach that much . He had a stacked veteran team with alot of experience .
Now he has to truly coach the younger type guys he is not able to coach the younger type players he is being exposed as I said when he was hired origionally . He is not and was not ever that great of a coach .

It does not matter at this point what message is being said if you fire PW & side with DMC if your the organzation at this point simply because if you dont fire PW you then get nothing of true value in return anyways and most insightful Kings fans know that PW is as good as gone between now and at the end of this season . Hopefully it will be tommorow !

If you deal DMC then you will piss off a huge ammount of fans the KINGS need to sell tickets to keep the KINGS in SAC . Message to PW . DMC sells tickets you do not !
PW you are the weakest link ! "GOODBYE"

Word gets around. You don't let Westphal do what he wants to do, to discipline the players that he has to deal with on a daily basis and you're in nearly as bad a situation as if you publicly don't back him.

Plus, as I've heard, Petrie said at some point tonight that this was done to send a message to Cousins.

Yeah, read that. ESPN gets paid based on hits; not on factual data or, better yet, fair and balanced analysis.
