No, I'll only be out for a few hours (hooking up with a photography group I belong to). I should be back by 10 pm at the latest.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

The other options for drafts, guys, is that we don't do a live one. In that case we could actually start right now. We'd certainly have plenty of time to finish it.

Yes.

Don't worry. I'd want to get some more approval before I went through with it. And there would be plenty of time to pick, and it would likely happen over the course of a few days.

I'm down. It seems like an easier way to accomodate everyone.

I'm cool with doing the draft here. It gives me more time to think about each pick anyway, even though the live draft last season was kinda fun.

Sure, you should probably email everyone about it to make sure they are checking this thread.

Alright. I'll give people until tomorrow to build a case against this idea, then I'll send out the e-mail.

Okay, well I've changed it to an offline draft. If miraculously we can all find the time for a live one, I can always change it back.

But okay, how were we determining the order? The new guys get the first two picks and after that, it's randomized?

An offline draft might be a bit more challenging for me, but I think I can make it work. We just need to get started ASAP and everyone needs to commit to checking in frequently.

But okay, how were we determining the order? The new guys get the first two picks and after that, it's randomized?

I thought the draft order was that I get to make all my picks first then the rest of you get to fight over my sloppy seconds :D

In the past, the draft order gave picks 1-3 to the top 3 players from the previous year as a reward for finishing in the top 3, then a random lottery for the remaining picks. If we do the same it can be picks 1 and 2 going to the new guys then 3-5 going to the top 3. I have no problem changing the draft, to a total lottery...but that does take away some of the incentive to win.

My finals and stuff are pretty much over with, so I can check in often. I just have one remaining final Friday morning.

I'm fine with giving the new guys the first two picks, but past that I think we should do it like how we've done it in the past.

Alright, I'll send out a league-wide email so that everyone knows this is what we're doing, then I'll figure out how the league finished for the last three last year, then I'll randomize the rest. We'll have our draft order and we can get started.

Oh and I'm working on a spreadsheet on Google docs so that we can keep track of everything.
