Sullinger will look even more interesting if the Kings shows any indication they won't sign JT.

As much I don't like Barnes (his defense specifically), he will be BPA for SFs in our range. Considering how awful our SF situation is, Barnes is an upgrade over our guys.

Sullinger & Barnes should be our two main guys imo. If not, trade the pick.

THIS

My first exact thought when I saw this was "the Kings never get lucky in the lottery ... this means NJ is moving up).

Wow, Cleveland sure tanked those last few days to get to #3. I'm seriously surprised that New Orleans didn't get a top 2 pick, but they were playing good recently. Warriors got lucky :nonono:

I don't even talk about moves when he turns and dribbles - I mean legit power moves using his body, his wingspan, creating that separation(he does an awful job at creating separation imo) and getting a clean soft hook shot or whathave you - one that can proove to be a easy high % shot from him that he can expand his post game from.

He has ALL the tools to do it. he got the wingspan, the touch, he got the body and strength(although that strength offensively needs to improve in order to get an even deeper position, or like sealing guys when he's deep inside the paint - he tries to do it more and more lately if you notice and he while our guys don't always pass - he doesn't seem to get a good seal on his guy too and gets unbalanced at times).

Just need to refine it a little more and channel it the right way - that will make him SO better as a player.

You never want to take a creative player who gets by on skill and turn him into a 1 or 2 move guy. The move he certainly needs to look for more is a simple over the shoulder hook shot, that right there alone will give him a consistent finisher at least.

He's pretty horrible right now at the post.

He NEEDS that 1-2 easy moves to expand his postgame and move slowly from there. you can have all the talent and loads of skills, but if you can't harness it and know when to do what and how to convert it in high % consistently - that means nothing.

I don't think his "moves" are the problem per se, they could improve but his problem is finishing. He's really cut down on the turnovers off footwork in the post, he needs to have a consistent finishing shot. He gets into trouble when he tries to throw an under the rim scoop shot, or a strange reverse off the glass. That little push shot he's developing is something to build off of.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them end up as the two best overall players in the draft. I think they are the only two guys with the closest shot to have the kind of talent a team can build an offense around.

You mean outside of Davis, right?

He must mean outside of Davis.

Surely he means outside of Davis.

Again, it's about polishing his moves and making him be more fluid in how he works in the post knowing when to do what, and how to react to his defender - and I think helping him getting those hook shots with either hand should be a very attainable moves for him that could open up his entire game and skyrocket his FG%s.

Right now it seems that he either just goes straight at the defender like he's saying "fvk it", and hoping for either the ref to blow the whistle for contact(that alot of the time he initiate) - or hoping to make some tough finish around the rim off balanced in a normally low % and then grab his own miss and finish - and what happens is he gets blocked alot in the first attempt, some of the time he doesn't always get a 2nd attempt - and when he does he's not an explosive enough leaper to just jam it through and gets blocked or forced to another contested shot again.

Key word for DeMarcus this summer for me is 'separation'.
He got such a huge wingspan, and such big claws. I mean let's look at Kevin Seraphin for example which is a guy i'd like DeMarcus to watch. as they both are under the rim, powerful with huge wingspan(and DeMarcus is also bigger which should give him an advantage)

See how fluid he is? how he uses both his strength to dig a deeper position to reach his spots(More importantly knowing where they are), and how he uses his body/head fakes to create enough space for a clean shot with that wingspan of his going straight up? (A problem for DeMarcus who always tries to get inside the defenders body/hands to draw the foul, which gets his shot blocked often, and if not then gets him a very bad % shot without a clear look).

Few things he does that DeMarcus doesn't besides those -
DeMarcus seems not to like banging real hard with the clear goal to reach a deep and good position - or atleast doesn't know how to do it properly to reach the right spots, or even know where they are.
DeMarcus NEVER, and honestly I mean NEVER cause I personally never seen it in 2 years - tries to re-post to get that deeper position without the ball which should be easier(if he's afraid of TOs\Double teams with it)
DeMarcus also is just unintelligent from the post at times - he doesn't understand the angles and the mindgames you need to play with your defender to reach your spots, and he takes way too long to make up his mind what he needs to do getting the help coming to make it way too hard on him.

He just uses his strengths in such a minimal way - it's like his number 1 goal is "how do I get this foul" - instead of "how do I get a clean look at the basket", which is totally wrong.

He's so clumsy, so not fluid and unbalanced - it seems like what he does make is by accident at times - and his %'s suggest just that.

He needs to really spend a few weeks with a guy like Hakeem, get his fundamentals straight - get some tips and advise from someone like that who watchs his postup films on how to correct his errors and how to understand the post-game alot better... I mean he got the touch, he got the body, he got the strength, he got the agility/quickness, he got the wingspan, he got the big hands, he got the height - he just needs those tweaks to his game and wanting to learn how to correct them with professionals over the summer.
