Not sure if I should make a new thread or not, but anyway...

Marc J. Spears ‏@SpearsNBAYahoo
Stern says owners wouldn't approve move of Kings to Anaheim if such was on table and Kings owners plan on staying in Sacramento.

I didn't watch the press conference by Stern, but I guess David Aldridge asked Stern that if a vote were held today for the Kings to move to Anaheim, Stern said no owner would vote in favor of a move.

Well that's encouraging, although I already suspected that would basically be true. I think Seattle has to be the real threat.

That is, unless they really did want to move to Anaheim all along, and this really isn't about the arena. In that case, I'd say we're actually pretty safe.

The move to Anaheim is all but dead, but that doesn't mean this team still won't move SOMEWHERE next season.

I think I've figured this out, the Maloofs don't want to leave. They don't want a new building that they don't own. They can't get that anywhere anyway. I just hope they are willing to spend to put a respectable team on the floor. They want low overhead, but I don't think they want to just tank the team either. We'll see I guess, but I think they think they can put a good team on the floor and want to reap all the benefits of that financially along with help from the NBA thanks to them being a small market team.

I think it does. Sac did everything it needed to do to keep the team. The problem isn't with the city, it's with the owners. Plus the Maloofs only wanted to move to Anaheim because they wanted the SoCal market+potentially a reality TV show IMO, and to take Samueli's money.

I had said it before in another thread. The Maloofs didn't file for relocation because they knew it wasn't going to happen. They created the atmosphere of playing a "we're leaving card." Kevin Johnson simply called their bluff.

David Stern, by stating there's no support for Kings relocating to Anahiem, basically confirms that.

The Maloofs are basically shooting themselves in the foot trying to get something for nothing.
It ended like I said it would. Once relocation was shot down the Maloofs would take the money on the table and bounce. #KingsAllDay

Donald Sterling Clay Bennett and The Maloofs should be dropped on an island for an all out Battle Royale.

I can see it now.. Maloofs forced to sell. Hanson buys. Kings change name to Sonics.

I kept forgetting to post this, but I thought it would be worth knowing. My parents were in a season ticket holder meeting recently with Gavin where basically, he repeated that they want to stay and upgrade PBP, and that as proof of that, they're currently seeking out a long term cable deal.

That is (possibly) good news but I will assume that they are lying until they prove otherwise with signed contracts and some heavy construction equipment out in Natomas. They have burned us too many times.

Inigo_Montoya, so are you saying tears of joy in a television interview after "coming to an agreement" with NBA officials and the city of Sacramento was not enough for you?

You can't upgrade the PBP until the building moratorium is lifted in Natomas. That's half true, but if the construction is going to cost more than half the building's worth then the job legally cannot be permitted to happen. I read that I believe on Angelique Ashby's Facebook page.

The moratorium is expected to be lifted in 2017. Take this info with a grain of salt. It's stuff I've read being a North Natomas resident trying to figure out when I don't have to pay FEMA ins. any longer.
