Cmon Kobe, you need that scoring title - get home with a W! Don't care what ya'll say, I want us to loose.

I can't see us loosing that though, look at how we're playing with motivation etc - at home against the Lakers in the final game of the season I just can't possibly see us loosing - Kobe will probably play, but Gasol and Bynum for sure will rest - then you got Ron-Ron who's out aswell.

Gonna be a tough one, hope tanknation prevails (And I hope Marcus rests his thigh on this one too)

Only extra lotto balls? You mean, potentially, a sh!tload of lotto balls will be lost if we win the Lakers game on Thursday. Here is the current standings:

T-3rd - 21-44 0.323 - New Orleans
T-3rd - 21-44 0.323 - Sacramento
5th - 21-43 0.328 - Cleveland
6th - 22-43 0.338 - Toronto
7th - 22-43 0.338 - New Jersey
8th - 23-42 0.354 - Golden State

Lets say Sacramento wins the Lakers game while the other team lose out theirs. So that means:

Cavs & Hornets will get 3rd and 4th picks respectively.
Toronto, New Jersey & Sacramento will be tied for 5th, 6th & 7th. If we lose the coin flip, BAM, 7th pick!

As much I love to see the Lakers lose against the Kings, we have to think longterm with this one. Long term sanctification > Short term sanctification

And what are we sacrificing here? an absolutely meaningless W against the Lakers who have nothing to play for, against us who also have nothing to play for?

That's stupid to me. This win isn't gonna mean nothing to anyone, no one is gonna remember it a week from today and our "culture" won't be changed if we do loose it nor will the players be too upset over it.

Having the floor to pick 6th and the floor to pick 9th is substantial (Or more likely the floor to pick 5th and the floor to pick 8th).

Even if we don't enter the lottery(when we have much higher %s to do so) - we still are gonna be safe from picking too low and having a Joakim Noah - Spencer Hawes moment that can have much higher implications on this franchise for years then a lousy meaningless loss/win in the final game of a season.

Everyone can do as they please ofcourse - but i'm absolutely in favor of loosing this game without a doubt.

Woo, man. I was coming in thinking "f*** the lottery," but that's a rough possibility.

BUT! Cleveland is playing Washington (albeit Washington has been winning somehow recently). The Raptors and Nets play each other, meaning somebody has to win (given how hard the Raptors have been tanking, I'd put my money on NJ).

So...eh....the worst we can really get is 6th. Still though, that wouldn't be great.

Whoops. The 6th pick is the worst we can do (thanks pill). For some reason, I had Toronto & New Jersey the same record (one will have one more win than the other).

6th is still a possible 8th pick in terms of floor. 3rd-4th is a possible 5th-6th pick.(in general 3 spots below where u pick is possible, but that realistically apply to those who finish 1st-2nd usually.

Again, Spencer Hawes and Joakim Noah - If this loss who means absolutely nothing to us other then pride(what pride, Lakers prolly gonna rest all everyone other then Kobe) - I'd want to cheer for the chance of us getting as high a pick as possible, and would want to be sure i'd pick 5th rather then 7th, for example.

It doesn't matter, we're the Kings.

07- 8th worst record, Lose coin toss, pick 10th
09- Worst record, pick 4th
10- Third worst record, pick 5th
11- Fifth worst record, pick 7th

The indian burial ground under Arco isn't giving us any favors. Don't expect to start now.

That's what i'm saying, cause we have absolutely no luck lottery-wise, we need to finish with the highest draft pick floor as possible.

Not really. The only prospects that really intrigue me as a Kings fan are Davis, MKG, and Barnes. There's a bunch of guards, and we need another guard like we need a bullet to the head. There's Robinson, who looks like a horrible fit next to DMC (see Landry, Hickson). And another project in Drummond who we really don't have time to wait for.

So basically, if we don't draft 1-2-3, I think we take Barnes and call it a draft. Barnes could probably be had anywhere 5-8.

A higher draft pick also means a better trade piece if ever we trade for something of value....

I'd much rather trade the pick at that point. Barnes is a nice fit and we do probably need help at SF, but not as much as we need a real PG and (something I think we can all agree on), a defensive big.

I'm softening up on some of the 7-10 guys myself. The more I think about it, I think Henson could be a Javale Mcgee type for a team like the Kings. Less athletic ability but higher IQ.

Quincy Miller entering is interesting as well, I almost wouldn't mind seeing the Kings trade back because there could be some serious potential in the mid-1st range.

It could, but there is always that spot in the draft where if you're trading that pick the team is targeting someone specific and that could be a player that nobody with the picks above you want anyway.
