Acy and Outlaw to the Knicks for Ellington and Tyler.

I'm torn about seeing Acy go, but happy to see Outlaw out the door. Not sure what Ellington and Tyler bring. Flexibility maybe?

Thank you...someone finally created the thread.

I don't know what to make of this other than I thought Acy was cheap enough to keep him. This has to be a precursor to something. That something may be as simple as potential cap flexibility.

I don't understand if this move was made to sign Omri.

For what its worth, Knicks fans are somewhat confused by this move, too. It seems like we switched our third-stringers for your third-stringers? Tyler is actually a pretty decent passer and can provide some energy. Ellington came straight from the Mavs like 6 weeks ago.

I think Sactown Royalty's analysis of the deal is pretty solid. http://www.sactownroyalty.com/2014/8/7/ ... remy-tyler. They break down the numbers and show that before the trade the Kings actually would have been over the luxury tax, and this deal should bring them $2.6 million below it. Hopefully this is a precursor to actually using the breathing room, plus that trade exception from the Thomas deal. There's still time for a splash. FWIW, before this deal went down, PDA was quoted saying he expects a couple more moves before training camp. Hopefully the next one is a big one.

Just a move to get flexibility. A bigger deal is coming.
