Just read on the Sacbee site that Malone is going with the Collison, McLemore, Gay, Thompson, Cousins lineup to start the year. Now, I'm OK with it because I think they need to do all they can to showcase Ben and JT at the very least but if players truly do "win" positions, do you think McLemore won that spot over Stauskas and JT over Landry or Evans? If that's the case Malone must have been watching different games in preseason than I.

No doubt Stauskas is good but not ready for a startup position.

I think Evans fits better with the starting unit, JT better with all around game off the bench. Maybe they saw something with how defenses rotate against Cousins with Evans on the floor I didn't see.

A Hollins/Landry offense and defense balance seems better than a JT/Landry combo as well.

Stauskas may be better off the bench as a more consistent scoring option than McLemore off the bench too.

I'm more concerned with who finishes games and plays the most minutes to tell you the truth.

Casspi to me seemed to earn the minutes at 3, so Williams better be playing behind him, or an option instead of Landry at the 4.

After watching preseason there are some definite questions

Can Rudy function 100% in a team oriented offense? Before the preseason I was 100% for a nice extension, now I can see where the FO might have some questions if they do. Rudy has forced some, and hopefully we are able to use his talent soundly around Cousins in this offense. I am rooting for him and believe he has the talent to adapt.

Ben has been better all around, however better for Ben is still questionable in terms of being a starting sg in this league right now. He has shown flashes in the preseason, improved defense, handles, better fg%, although the rebounding, assists, BBIQ, consistency still could be better. It will be interesting to see how he develops and how the SG affects us this year. Hopefully he improves and Nik comes strong

I'd prefer no DW at all...... :banghead:

The team rebound of Kings was brilliant last season so I'm not that worried about rebound problems of Ben and Nik

He's looked absolutely horrible most of the time. I never liked the deal with Moute, now that would be a nice option to have off the bench right there. And his contract is pretty high considering what he brings too.

I'm ok with McLemore beginning the season as the starting SG since I can't really say Stauskas is ready and clearly won the spot. Not crazy about JT starting, but maybe he'll play well and boost his trade value.

Moute was one of the highest on +/- last season...

Well I still don't see why they traded Moute for Williams, over 6 million DWill is going to make this season. Bad gamble IMO.

Moute was really our only true defender, unless Hayes in a situational role counts, but inflated contract there too.

We need guys like Moute, or Evans, legit and talented role players. Specialists fairly paid.

Stauskas better serves the team as a sixth man.

Yes, I love the Cousins to Gay back door play! Wait, that sounds kind of dirty.

At some point this franchise has to come to the conclusion that at least part, and a major part, of this teams defensive woes are directly centered around not having the personnel to pull it off.

Looks like selfish offensive play to me ever since Collison/Cousins came out. And why aren't we running plays for Stauskas?

Yea, that's why Evans isn't going to start. Abused three times in a row by a freakin' rookie.

Defensive rotations look improved although they can certainly be tightened up... *paging DWILL

goddamn it bmac has been sucking so far

I don't know how much more time we are going to give him to get his act together. If I was Malone, Nik is my starting 2 in opening night.
