It's been reported that Rondo will not re-sign with Sacramento if he were traded here. Just on this basis-alone, why would the Kings seek Rondo?

It was reported, we don't know if it's true or still true. Kevin Garnett refused to come to Boston 7 years ago before we got Ray Allen. You guys are winning, Gay re-upped... it's a different situation now.

Plus even without a commitment from Rondo, by trading for him now you get to offer him a fifth year and more money...

I agree. Team is much more improved now with Darren Collison as the pg, imagine what Rondo could do.

Which makes an already great deal even better since there is a good chance Rudy will be seeking another contract before the third season
