Kings sign Seth Curry - 2yrs/2mil

Post#1 » by SacSanity » Wed Jul 22, 2015 12:47 am

I guess we are going to give him a shot. Can't complain with this move. Anyone familiar with what exactly he can bring to the table?

Nice move. Surprised New Orleans didn't scoop him

I'm really confused. Don't we have too many people on our roster?

1st string

Rondo
McLemore
Koufos
Cousins
Gay

2nd String

Collison
Belinelli
Cauley-Stein
Dukan
Casspi

3rd String

Stockton
Curry
Anderson
Moreland
Acy
Butler

I count 16 at least... what am I missing?
think peaceful thoughts :meditate:

The Kings needed some shooting so it helps but it's another end of the bench undersized SG kind of thing though. I guess this means Stocktons days are numbered.

I would put my money on Stockton and Dukan seeing a lot of action in Reno with Moreland and Anderson being shirt and tie guys.

Curry played very well in the D-League (& Summer league). His numbers (specifically his 3PT% and volume) are crazy.

Calling my shot: I don't think Stockton and Moreland make the roster. Dukan will play on Reno.

Whoever can be gone without any guarantees is off the list most likely.

Wonder if we can deal Moreland for a second like was mentioned early on this free agency?

Seems to me Denver can sit back comfortably and wait for Moreland to hit the open market. Kings roster is bursting at the seams with players. It's more likely than not the non guaranteed guys are gone as you mentioned above.

Only 12 on the active roster and 3 able to be inactive and we can send anyone to Reno. Training camp will tell us who out of the third string will be make the roster but it will most likely be Curry, Acy and Butler.

I think we keep Moreland as insurance for an injury to DMC WCS or Koufos. Yeah we could definitely trade him for a second but I think he is more important to us as a player then an asset. If we trade him for a second then we'll just be picking someone to replace him. If we plan to make a run this year depth is important and we learned there is a lot of competition for capable front court players.

I'm not sure we can get a guaranteed second, but maybe a protected one. Which I'm fine with, have Vlade stash some Euro guy on someone else tab for awhile later.

I'll be very disappointed if we let go of Moreland.

Yeah, I don't think they can afford to let go of Moreland just from a depth stand point. That would suck to see him get cut but we'll see what camp brings I guess.

So unless Moreland gets cut in next 10 days likely he stays and I'd say Stockton out, Was pretty sure his contract was given to him late last year as a trade chip if need to match salary.

Seth's handle looks to have improved and adds more shooting and can make his own shot which didn't have on the bench last year

So I guess we'll know the fat of Moreland pretty soon. They really might as well just pick up the option unless that effects his ability to play a whole lot in the D-league or something.

It's not uncommon for a team to leave a roster spot open. Just putting that out there
