Expansion Draft Scenario -- Who would you protect?

Trades and Transactions board is going to be doing an expansion draft project where we imagine we are running a new expansion team starting play in 2015/16 and having to create our initial roster pulled from current NBA teams.

So in advance of that I'm trying to get the best possible idea of what 8 players each franchise would most likely choose to protect. And while last year we depended on our Trade board posters to provide us that list, this year we thought it would be more accurate if we consulted with the team boards.

So I would love to get your opinions itt on which 8 players you think the Kings would protect in an expansion draft. I am attaching a link to last year's project so you can see some of the criteria we used when assembling the expansion team. Other than the cap figures the rules would be roughly the same this year.

I would have to say Cousins, Gay, Mclemore, WCS, Collison, Koufos, Bellineli and Casspi.

That 8th person is a tough one. Rondo might be the other person but on a one year deal and the uncertainty of him playing well it would be tough to protect him. Casspi is solid enough and a fan favorite so that would be my reasoning to keep him around.

My list of 8:

Cousins
Gay
McLemore
Trill
Koufus
Collison
Casspi
Bellinelli

I leave Rondo off the list because I doubt a new franchise would take a guy like Rondo and his baggage.

While Casspi is an excellent budget price fill in for the roster, the potential upside and possible long term contract for Rondo down the road is not worth protecting Casspi.

I think we pretty much can all agree on the following, maybe not in this order however.

1. Cousins
2. Rudy
3. WCS
4. McLemore
5. Collison
6. Koufos
7. Marco

8 is likely left to Rondo or Casspi

If order IS an issue, my 8 would look like this.
1. Cuz
2. Gay
3. Collison
4. McLemore
5. WCS
6. Bellinelli
7. Koufos
8. Casspi

However the order of 6-8 would be a toss up for me. Cuz and Casspi are brothers from different mothers. Because Cuz is #1, keeping him happy is a priority. BC of this, and the fact that we basically have rented Rondo for a year, Casspi > Rondo in this scenario.
