Trade Idea

Post#1 » by Yaroslavs1Fan » Thu May 20, 2010 4:22 am

Philly trades the #2 Pick and Samuel Dalembert to the Los Angeles Clippers for Chris Kaman and the #8 pick.

Philly line-up (first 8):

pg: Louis Williams, Jrue Holiday
sg: Andre Iguodala
sf: Thaddeus Young, Al-Farouq Aminu
pf: Elton Brand
c: Chris Kaman, Marreese Speights

Clippers line-up (first 8):

pg: Baron Davis, Steve Blake
sg: Eric Gordon
sf: Evan Turner
pf: Blake Griffin, Craig Smith
c: Samuel Dalembert, Deandre Jordan

What do you think?

I think both teams would be better off staying where they are.

Holiday/Williams
Turner
Iggy
Brand/Young
Dalembert/Speights

Baron/Blake
Gordon
Aminu
Griffin
Kamen/Jordan

not really, if the clippers do this, then they can trade baron to NY for eddy curry. then they would move turner to pg and sign joe johnson or rudy gay for SF. then they would have about 25 million dollars of cap space next offseason to build a bench.

imagine:

pg: Evan Turner, Steve Blake
sg: Eric Gordon, FA sg (Mickael Pietrus) *2011 FA
sf: Joe Johnson, FA sf (Shane Battier) *2011 FA
pf: Blake Griffin, Craig Smith
c: FA center (Al Horford) *2011 FA, Deandre Jordan

Pietrus (5 million)
Battier (6 million)
Horford (13 million) - restricted FA

Now thats a good team!

Aside from the fact Evan Turner isn't really a point guard in similar fashion to Tyreke Evans and the fact that Joe Johnson will not be able to play small forward night in and night out and the fact that you're banking on Al Horford to not be matched or DeAndre Jordan to become more then bench fodder and the fact that Blake Griffin has yet to show he can play without Greg Odening his knee and the fact that neither Gordon or Turner aren't really laterally quick enough to guard opposing point guards, yeah, I guess that's a good team!

Philly laughs and remembers why you are the Clippers, then hangs up.

^^
So a lot of Philly fans, myself included, aren't all that open to the idea of

Brand (Massive Crap Contract) + #2 for #4 + Big Al
so you think that we're gonna want Kaman and #8?

No.
