1. Wall is a special talent, probably gonna end up the best player in this draft.

2. I always thought Turner was very overrated. Yeah, he doesn't have the ball in his hands in Philly, but he never did have that explosive first step, or the shifty body control, or impeccable ballhandling ability to create consistently as the #1 option on a team. He can still be a good player because of his great feel for the game and talent, but I don't think he ends up a star.

3. Jury is still out on Favors. He's clearly not ready for the big time, still only getting about 20 minutes a game for an awful team. I compared him to a more athletic Emeka Okafor and still think he can get there in 2-3 years.

4. Johnson was supposed to be a safe pick, but he just lacks confidence. He can be a good roleplayer one day, but I don't ever see him developing the handle needed to be a star.

5. A lot of the people picking Cousins as a bust was based on the perception that Cousins was a lazy cancer. Turns out he was only a hotheaded 20 year old, which you can work with. Nobody really doubted his talent. Star potential oozes from this kid, just needs to keep working on his temper.

6. Udoh was a terrible pick; 4 year senior, no upside, just invisible. I thought the Warriors should have taken Monroe and it seems like they're on track to regret this pick.

7. Speaking of Monroe, he's been a nice energy rebounder/garbage man for the Pistons but I'd like to see them utilize his offensive game more. He's talented.

I am unsure as to why VC4P is facepalming? Is it because of the lawls? Or is it because Jaylee209 used the correct contraction?
"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."

Favors is the biggest bust though.

Lottery players I like so far:

Wall
Cousins (He's going to get himself into trouble over his career though)
Monroe
Ed Davis (I'm biased but he was steal of lottery IMO)

Guys I'm writing off:

Wesley Johnson
Xavier Henry
Aldrich

I'll give Favors some more time but he's invisible on the court.

Evan Turner is the biggest bust because there are going to be A LOT of guys that were drafted after Turner that will have better careers and become better players. Favors has high bust potential too. I know he was drafted as a prospect so the jurys still out on Favors.

bump...update your lists.
And what do GS fans think of Aminu? Not saying he's officially a bust, just curious about his progress.

Have to go with Aldrich or Johnson as biggest bust. Both were drafted as NBA-ready players, Johnson looks like a backup, Aldrich doesn't look like he'll be in the league two years from now.

Nah, i think Aldrich can develop into a defensive minded backup center a la Przybilla.
Is that good enough for a top 10 pick? probably not, but he'll likely have a long carreer in the NBA.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

IMHO, he's going to be a 10th man type. Bad pick.

I think Turner ends up ok like Harden

Johnson is what he is. Defensive guy who hits 3. He'll have a long career as a contributer like Tayshaun Prince. Guys who can play d, play two positions and hit 3s are rare.

IMO biggest bust is Udoh. That was just an awful pick from day 1. But biggest bust we didn't expect will be Favors. I'm not seeing anything out of him other than being a big body and that foul rate scares me. I don't think he has a head for the game

Wes Johnson will be ok...a big part of his disappointing season is that I think for the first half of the year that Rambis had the leash on too tight...he's had some games where he looked like a legitimate talent.
