IDK that it's a lock. I could see him slipping to 3rd or 4th pretty easily.

Agreed. Nothing is a lock this early, especially with no can't miss prospects.

If I was to redo my mock today, I think I would have Sullinger #1, with Kyrie Irving 2nd.
3rd would be tough, I think it would be between Perry Jones, Terrence Jones and Brandon Knight, with Harrison Barnes after them based on his potential, NBA frame, smarts and his hype. Probably, actually, I would sneak him into the top 5 if not 4th just based on those underlying facts.

I'm changing my vote from Barnes to Irving. The more I have watched of Barnes the less impressed I have become. He looks closer to 6'6" than 6'8" and his ability to create his own shot has been pathetic.

Watch out for Terrence Jones. Not nearly as hyped as the other guys and it's a small sample size thus far, but he looks tremendous and I think he's taller then his listed 6'8 and his length and athleticism is ridiculous.

Celtics trade Raptors for a draft pick in 2011 for rights on Terrence Jones. Terrence Jones becomes what Len Bias was supposed to be. Rondo sets records with Terrence and they win the championship for the second time in a row.

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

terrence jones is nothing like len bias. bias was a physical beast of a SF with a money mid-range jumper, but limited ball-handling ability.
terrence jones cant shoot and he has no mid-range game to speak of. what he's doing now is taking advantage of his ability to beat college PFs off the dribble. when he gets to the NBA, he'd likely be able to do the same vs plenty of PFs, but is he a PF?
the obvious comparison would be to lamar odom, but i dont think terrence is as fluid with the ball as odom was. odom, at the same stage, looked like a guard with the way he dribbled and passed. although jones can put the ball on the floor a couple of times and has more advanced moves than most college 4's, i wouldnt call him a great ball-handler for the SF position. and unless he changes his shooting stroke, he'll be less effective on the perimeter
he is playing more physically than i expected and is very competitive, i just think he'll be a tweener at the next level. i could see him being a gerald wallace-like combo forward.

I think he's easily tall enough to play power forward, he looks a legit 6'10.

Warriors would take Barnes - all the rest of the potential #1 talent is at PG or PF, where we're pretty solid.

The Brooklyn Nets select Harrison Barnes.

Although Kyrie with Brook and Favors would be deadly.

That would be an epic fail akin to Chicago drafting Michael Beasley over Derrick Rose.

With the first pick in the 2011 NBA Draft the Portland Traiblazers select Kyrie Irving out of Duke University.

It's possible... :)

Foye wrote:LMAO about anyone assuming the Wolves would get the No. 1 pick. We could be the worst team in the league for 10 years in a row and wouldn't get the No. 1 pick.

Hypothetically we would pick Barnes, though. He's going to be the best guy in this draft if he declares.
SG and C are probably our needs, though. We need either a SG who can create his own shot and defend or a hybrid PF/C that plays solid D.
I would be satisfied if we came out of the draft with a guy like Enes Kanter or Alec Burks.

With all due respect: You need good players. Doesn't matter at what position except for maybe PF. You don't draft for need if you're Minnesota, you take the BPA. If that means you pick Irving, so be it.

Irving over Barnes is already settled in your eyes?

it's more of a, taking barnes over everyone else would be a tragic mistake. barnes has looked bad. not like he's just not living up to the hype, but like he's not that good of a player right now.
