After fixing up some of his deficiencies such as improving his rebounding, strength, work ethic and height - where do you project he would have gone in this wars draft of he had skipped last year?

Without contract issues, he is a top 10 pick this year.

Based on talent, he is the 6/7th prospect.

Probably close to where Leonard is drafted.

I would guess top 6 or 7. Motie was considered an easy top 5 pick before the 2010-2011 season, the reason he dropped is he got billed as a biatch motor wise and a Bargnani like rebounder - and those concerns aren't there anymore. Plus with the complete lack of Euros draft he gets the mystique of it.

My guess would be top 5.

Is this guy really that good?

Why wasn't he a lotto pick like Valciounas last year?

He didn't have the stats. Poor man's Dirk. He improved big time over the year. Valanciunas would probably be drafted 2nd or 1st if he came out this year.

Agreed for the most part but no way Valanciunas goes ahead of AD.

Motiejunas would probably go 10-14 this year, late lotto.

See him as late lotto, he's improved this year but not as much as certain games indicate, the fixed some issues but still doesn't look crazy impressive.

2nd pick after Anthony Davis, VTB, Euroleague rebounding record holder.

Marked as a soft euro with poor rebounding for size, he is showing the haters.

I'm super excited that Motiejunas belongs to the Rockets.

Having Motiejunas at 20th is great for Rockets. The guys has some mysterious potential - he can be average, he can be good or he can be star in NBA. His seiling is still uncovered, he can still explode big time and that's what is intrigue about him. If somehow it turns out that he's not good for NBA (I don't see that happening), it's not a tragedy for Rockets knowing the drafts. Motiejunas would be among top 10 this year, IMO, his offense looks great and still plenty of room to improve. The biggest concern is still his defence, he's pretty athletic, but pretty soft as well - though he improved here sharply also.

Most probably yes.

Having him watched quite a bit this year, I'd say he'd go somewhere from 5-10.

Beal, MKG & Robinson would probably go still ahead of him. Maybe Drummond, too.
After those guys there's a pretty significant drop-off IMO. Some teams might like another guy or two better. Some might go for need. I doubt he'd go later than #10 though.

Anyway, this thread lacks youtube highlights.
