Re: 2013 Sleepers
i'd say bennett has zero chance of becoming a sf. it doesn't matter what he tries to do to improve his lateral quickness, he's just naturally a husky, big boned dude. he'd probably be as successful as marcus fizer playing the 3.
i think he should stick to being a PF, work on playing physically and doing all the little things that big men do. for a guy as powerfully built as he is, he's more of a finesse player...on both ends

Re: 2013 Sleepers
What do you guys think about Jamaal Franklin?
6'5' long arms and good athleticism, mocks have him going mid to late 20s.
anyone know his game, or how it'll translate to the next level?

nice numbers but i'm not a fan of his game. he's got the tools, but he's not a good shooter, not a good ball-handler and he plays out of control. he has mid first round talent with a 2nd round game imo.

Re: 2013 Sleepers
Very nice reading manual, keep them coming. I really appreciate it.
Since I am from Brazil, I can't watch a lot of college games and it's nice to know some of the 2013 prospects.
For San Antonio, do you have any name in mind that could be a late 1st round pick ? Hard to think that SA would go with a guard, so i am thinking about a PF mostly. Ready to contribute (could be a junior/senior), has to defend and knock down from mid-range.Could be a stretch 4 as well since Bonner won't be back.

Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

Matthew Dellavedova is going to make a lot of NBA scouts eat crow after he gets drafted late 2nd round.

Re: 2013 Sleepers
anybody think spencer dinwiddie can play himself into the first round this year? he's a jrue holiday-esque combo guard with a skinnier build. he's been lights out from 3 this yr, shooting 54% from deep. this after shooting ~44% from 3 last yr. he's getting to the line 9 times a game. he's also been a really good defender this year, giving opposing PGs fits. physically he isn't much to look at and he's not explosive, but he does have good length and size for a PG (around 6'4-6'5), has a high iq, is skilled and crafty.
i think if he presents himself as a pg as opposed to a sg, i think he has a chance. any other thoughts on him?

Re: 2013 Sleepers
I haven't seen him except for videos, but I'd have to ask why his 2 point FG % is so low - especially considering scouting reports say he's great in finishing and transition. Maybe it's not important, but I can't think of an NBA prospect who's shot a significantly higher 3 point % than 2 point % for more than a season of major college ball. I agree - he he'd need to show he can play the point, and judging by his low assist total, he probably hasn't gotten that opportunity, but a 6'5 190 guy with his abilities is unusual, so he's certainly worth keeping on eye on to see how hard he works on improving.

I've been very impressed by Glenn Robinson III. What do you guys think of him being an SG in the NBA? Do you think he can guard 2s effectively?

i think he can guard 2's easily. my only concern with him at the 2 would be him being used as a 2ndary ball-handler. he's not terrible and he's a good decision maker, he's just not currently a creative, versatile ball-handler.
i'd consider him a G/F because of is defensive ability alone.

I mentioned him earlier, but do not sleep on Brandon Paul. I saw him going late 2nd round to undrafted in some mocks.
Tonight against a very good Gonzaga team on the road, 35 pts, 4 reb, 3 ast, 2 blk, 3 stl on 62.5% shooting.

Bp3 is definitely underrated. If he continues his play this season I think he should atleast get into the first round. If not he will be a steal. I saw that in some Mocks also, I was surprised. Either way he can ball and he definitely showed it tonight. The guy can really score. I guess the fact that he is 6"4 hurts his stock but he has decent length and pretty good athleticism. He is not just a one dimensional scorer either. I think he can be successful in the NBA.

Re: 2013 Sleepers
Paul always clearly had outstanding talent, but for 3 years - he was horribly inconsistent. This season he's been great, but he's got to do it for a full season to erase the memories of 3 season of ups and downs that were mostly downs. When he's on, he's a really dynamic player at both ends, and that'll get at least 1 GM to take a chance on him by mid 1st, imo.

What's your thought about Arsalan Kazemi, the Oregon Ducks player which played with Rice for 3 years and is now in his Senior year? He has put up nice numbers through the year till now...

A unique player. He's not a scorer or a shooter, but he still manages to fill up a box score. I think he needs to lock himself in a gym after the college season's over, and learn to shoot jump shots. He'll be 23 in April and has the tweener size and doesn't look the part, so he might not get drafted, but somebody should at least give him a tryout.
We mentioned Dez Wells before, but he's still not even listed as even a 2nd round draft pick by either nbadraft.net or draftexpress.com for 2013 and 2014. He IS going to be a 1st round pick. He's over-shadowed by Alex Len, and MD is trying to feature Nick Faust more, but eventually, Wells is going to be the feature guy when MD needs a basket. While he's not the uber-athlete that Dwayne Wade is, he's a poor man''s Wade, and at 6'5 220, he can overpower you or drive by you - and he can finish explosively. Again, how much he improves his shooting range will be a major factor in how well he does in the NBA.

Re: 2013 Sleepers
I could see Ryan Kelly carving out a role player niche at the next level. He seems to be pretty skilled and mobile for a buy his size. Not a star or even a starter mind you, but could be worth a draft pick IMO

this yr's 2nd round could be a source of good, cheap stretch 4's if a team is looking for one.
kelly, erik murphy and james southerland maybe even jared berggren could all probably be had late 2nd.

yep. can't ignore how easy it is for him to score. he's just a natural scorer who has a good combination of power and touch. he overpowers defenders at this level without even trying and still has the touch to get off a soft shot. he's shooting a high percentage from 3 in low volume, but i don't like his slingshot, knuckleball jumper.
his in between game with runners and floaters is really good though.
he doesn't really do much else other than score and he looks like he could get in better shape.
