I know Ben dropped a triple double. But how did he look out there and how did rabb look?

Since the first time I saw Rabb play I have always said I just dont understand the hype. He doesnt look like a 1-1 candidate to me and I never understood that ranking. Nice prospect but should not be anywhere near the conversation for 1-1. He has since been moved down a few spots but still. Ben Simmons, I get it. He looks the part. He could go 1-1.

rabb has a tremendous foundation of skill and he's a good springy athlete with good length to boot. he has all the ingredients to be a true inside outside threat. his footwork and fakes in the post are the best in his class. he's comfortable turning over either shoulder because hes truly ambidextrous, with turnaround jumpers over left while favoring his left (actually favors his left for finishing everything around the paint) with his hooks. rabb's also an improved passer too. as long as he sticks with his post play and does not take the easy route by drifting out to the perimeter too much, which some bigs at the lower levels tend to do ebcause of the congestion in the paint, he'll get better reading doubles. he can handle the ball in space and his jumper is nice too, showing an ability to step out with range. has very soft hands catching the ball in traffic too. to me the only big question mark surrounding him is his build. he's naturally thin, so if he can't gain enough strength to hold his position in the post, that puts a serious damper on his back to the basket post potential. he'd still have his face up potential though.

zak irvin has major work to do on his floor game, iq and skill outside of shooting. if he doesn't improve drastically in those areas, he's just another hardaway jr who i didn't like as a prospect and still don't like as a player. im not crazy about him as an nba prospect tbh.

Sadly I have to agree, his 1st few games were fools gold. Hardaway has a much better pull up game and is a better transition athlete/finisher too. I did not realize just how bad the talent was on this team. Then again, replacing draft picks with "under the radar" guys was going to catch up.

I really like Mike Tobey from UVA - who I assume won't come out early and will wait till the 2016 draft. He's not a special player and won't be picked high, and he doesn't even play 20 minutes a game for Virginia, but he's a real solid legit 7 footer who's solidly built, plays smart, has a nice shooting touch out to 18 feet, and just goes about his business very quietly and productively.

as well he probably should be. I see Tatum keeps garnering high marks as well but I can't see how he's better than Josh. Speaking on potential as well Josh seems have the higher upside than any of the guards or wings in that class.

Yeah, they are saying better than Jaylen Brown and Andrew Wiggins, too.

Tatum looks like Evan Turner 2.0

yeah maybe not as athletic as Drew or strong as Jaylen but more skilled than both. Excellent 2-way potential as well.

Josh Jackson is the best prospect in the world right now. In high school or college. I don't see anything changing that.

you'll find plenty that think DeAndre Ayton might be the one to hold that distinction.

haven't seen enough of kiddo to make that kind of call but I KNOW Ayton is a beast.

switching topics: Derryck Thornton's jumper looks soaking wet this year. his pull up game and stop and go i crazy.

Anyone here watching the Simeon vs. St. Rita game on ESPN 2? Charles Matthews, Ed Morrow, and Dj Williams.

I see Josh Jackson improving his game greatly...guys, how would you compare his athleticism to the recent athletic swingmen (Wiggins, Stanley Johnson, Justise Winslow, Jaylen Brown)

he is quicker and faster than all of them, with or without the ball, but with the ball in particular because his handle is the best out of all of them. with that handle comes better shiftiness as well. vertically you're splitting hairs. wiggins probably still comes out on top. in terms of dimensions he has great size for a SG but is on the thin side. strength-wise he's at the bottom of the group along with wiggins.
