Well one thing is for certain. Jackson is going to have a crappy freshman year relative to expectations. Kansas has to be paying these guys, it literally makes no sense. No one actually improves at Kansas.

At some point next year Kansas will lose a tourney game with Jackson taking only 4 shots

Self is a control freak who believes in the system over the players

How much does this hurt Josh's stock and shot at number 1?

Does a strong season from Giles, Bam, or DSJ compared to a so-so season under Self for Jackson take him down a few pegs or is there already so much intrigue with his upside that the number 1 is his regardless?

Why do you expect him to have a weak season?

I personally don't. Question is more geared towards those that do.

I don't think Josh gets lost in that system I think he does just fine. Seems like folks tend to think Josh will end up misused under Self and Wiggins is considered the blueprint for that. Josh is a different player though. A motor that won't be questioned with an attack mindset and underrated playmaking he's going to be fine whether featured or not. I think number 1 is his to lose.

I'm sure regardless of how well they bounce back HG3 and DSJ might scare some with injury concerns.

As long as Josh keeps that fire and doesn't let it desolve into bad body language if things aren't going well for him he should be fine.

I dont see anyway he is not nº1 honestly, positional value is important too, wings carry much more value than bigs or PGs, at least in my book, and those injury concerns are real.

Tatum has no shot at nº1 I'd say.

What Self needs to do that he rarely does is shorten the rotation, see who is better suited between Coleby, Lightfoot and Azubuike to play 3rd big, and play just 8 guys, Mason, Graham, Vick, Svi, Josh, Bragg, Lucas and that guy, maybe play one more if you have fault problems or injuries, but that's it.

They have enough talent, athleticism, shooting and the right mix of maturity and young talent to be a factor.

Terrance Ferguson is going to Zona. What does that team look like next year?

Hasn't been a huge detriment for Simmons this year...

Long/athletic and really good defensively but they need to see an improvent at PG with Kadeem Allen making strides or Kobi Simmons taking over right away. I think Allen will be the guy because of his defense.

Trier will be back and healthy so he's the go to guy.

Fine to disagree. Simmons will be an all-star in NBA. They are stars but Simmons is a notch above.

@PaulBiancardi I disagree when you mention that there is no star player like Ben Simmons in 2016 class, Jackson, Tatum, Giles, & Fultz are.

I like Simmons but that's not accurate at all imo.. I think there are about 5 guys on Simmons level as a prospect and I think Jackson is a better prospect

It's weird with ESPN and Simmons..they've been trying to push him as this Lebron level talent for some reason since he was in hs..

It definitely paid off for them. A bunch of people tuned in to watch LSU basketball this past year. They really pushed Simmons like I have not seen before since Lebron. I do find it funny that by March the majority of college guys preferred Ingram over Simmons. I have a feeling if Michael Porter chose an east coast team that is on the same level as Washington if they would be starting to pump him up. But I dont think they will since he will be out west. ESPN is all about ratings and pumping up Simmons definitely worked for their ratings

Marvin Bagley was thought of as the best prospect in all of hs for awhile now 247 has moved him down to 2 in his own class

Has he fallen off? Or is this the case of overreaction a like people do at times with Ayton?

DJ Wilson. Buy stock. 6'11 7'3 span and can shoot the 3, rim runs, gobbles up rebounds, protects the rim and can switch out on the perimeter no problem. Will be pretty good post defender as he continues to add mass, too.
