Agreed. Westbrook has major injury concerns himself so i'm surprised so many are going with him. Even at 100% i'm still taking love.

Westbrook has played 439 career reg season games compared to Love's 362. Love is more of an injury concern

How quickly they forget . Derrick Rose is a generational talent , one of a kind. Westbrook or Love . has never been on the level of MVP Rose 2011 Campaign.

And that was supposed to be just the beginning. He was a long way from his prime when he went down.

I know right. And the scary part is, that Rose would have been able to start picking his spots due to the rise of analytic s and advance metrics, and become scary efficient just like LeBron/Durant have been able to do.

I think his season that year was pretty overrated. Dwight deserved MVP.

Look at Curry's stats this year compared to Rose's MVP year. Curry is better in every facet.

Not Rose's fault he won it, just saying it wasn't some (statistically) crazy unattainable year. The Bulls were just a damn good TEAM.

You can't compare Curry season to Rose's because they are two sides of the ball. Rose is by far the better defender than Curry.

And is simply unguardable , you can't stay in front of him. Curry on the otherhand relies on his outside shoot ( although he is clearly the best shooter in the NBA,....maybe of all time ).

At the end of the day as Doc Rivers says " its a miss or make game " . Can't rely on an outside shot solely to win a championship.

Even durant/westbrook/ harden froze up...rose definitely deserved that mvp...The bulls do ok without him but that's because the effect he had...rose played with the fire if westbrook and the smarts of kd...He didn't take bone headed jumpers like westbrook, he made smart plays and took the shots he knew he had...i know he's injured and been taking alot of time off which I hate as a chicago native but don't forget rose was one of the toughest guys on the court

Look at Chicago without Rose and Deng, still going strong. Put a healthy Westbrook on the Bulls this year and is it that inconceivable they could've won 55-60 games? Westbrook isn't as good of a shooter, distributor or game manager, but he is a better defender and rebounder. I take prime Rose over him, but it's not as if he's head and shoulders above Westbrook.

After tonight's game and most of the playoffs I think Hibbert was picked where he should have been picked at. He is not a Georgetown great center like the rest

Rose with the first pick again. He is still the best when healthy.

Hibbert above Ibaka or Brook Lopez? Hell no.

Hibbert is sooooooo overrated because of his playing against the Heat in previous years...

Love easily. Westbrook would be second.

Looking back through this list and there were a lot of steals.

People are ignoring one pretty large factor here:

Westbrook improved as he had no injuries. Assuming Rose was healthy, he too would have improved further. So saying Westbrook is the obvious pick (if we ignore injuries) is very short-sighted and very likely wrong when looking at career trajectory.

When Rose went down, he hadn't reached his prime at all. When the ACL tear happened, he was 23.

Why would we assume no injuries?

The correct answer is obviously DJ Augustin . Klove with honorable mention.

But in all seriousness...westbrook and ONLY because Rose is injury prone currently. Hell westbrook is starting to be injury prone

Im a HUGE Rose fan but IMO, if Thibs had Westbrook in his same system he probably would have gotten the MVP just the same...those guys are cut from a very similar cloth...and Lebron was still the MVP that year, the NBA just loves to make headlines lol

I don't think so. Rose does (did) a lot of damage of hesitation moves and lateral cuts, that's really not Russ's game. Without KD and Ibaka providing space, those straight-line dribble drives become less and less effective. The Bulls have struggled to find shooters who could provide that type of support.
