U18 European Championship
Yesterday started the Under 18 european championship with some interesting prospects like domantas sabonis, dragan bender, lovro mazalin, furkan korkmaz, egemen guven, Federico mussini, giorgios papagiannis etc.

Dragan Bender was absolutely nuts in his 2nd game with 36 points and 14 Rebounds in 29 minutes against Lithuania. And he's a year younger.
Favourites for the title should be turkey, croatia and serbia.

Re: U18 European Championship
is that croatia/lithuania game archived anywhere?
bender's one of my fave int'l prospects. i don't know if he has the frame to bulk up to where he needs to, but his combination of skill, tools, athleticism and feel is off the charts.

I dont know if they broadcasted the game but if they did it should be uploaded to Youtube. So just check out fiba's channel.
Just looked it up, yes they showed the game, so it should be uploaded to youtube any minute.
You'll also get a chance to see domantas sabonis who was surprisingly bad in this game with 2 points on 12% fg.
He had 21 and 12 in his first match.
You can see which games are broadcasted on the right site.

Re: U18 European Championship
Edin Atic(Bosnia, plays for the same team that Vrabac and Buza play) has great potential. 24 points and 12 rebounds against Turkey in an upset win. ManualRam I suggest that you watch this game against Turkey. Great shooter, high IQ, good athleticism. Only problem with him is that he has "head" problems, something like Hezonja(he improved on that area).

Re: U18 European Championship
Greece looks like he has the most talented crop on this age since Retzias Kakouzis Papanikolaou etc (1974 born).
Players like Papagiannis, Tsalbouris (next season will play at Iowa state), Mitoglou(wake forest), Chalampopoulos, by far the most accurate player of the tournament, with 83% on 2pt while 4rth scorer 15 at rebs, and 5th at assists.

Bender is a beast, i'll be damned if he doesn't end up being a top 10 pick two years from now.

Re: U18 European Championship
What an amazing game between Greece and Spain. 2 OT. Chalampopoulos is a pure beast. Played all 50 minutes with 25 points 18 rebs, 7 assists 3 blocks! His body looks chubby and his not explosive, is better as a stretch PF right now, but if he works his athleticism he is all around game is fantastic. He can even make cross overs...

Dragan Bender with a near triple double, 21/17/9 assists against Latvia.
Game wasnt broadcasted unfortunately.
He's the 2nd youngest player in the tournament by the way.

Re: U18 European Championship
Anyone know what's up with Lovro Mazalin?
He used to be one of Croatia's best players, but has been incredibly poor (except for one game) this tournament. Injuries? Lack of confidence/mental toughness? No chemistry with teammates? Not enough playing time/conflicts with coach? Early bloomer?
I have a hard time understanding how a terrific player like him has disappeared.

Nothing happend. Croatia has loaded team, perhaps best in recent history. He plays lot as pg while Croatia plays lot trough big man players. Game not suited for Lovro.

Italy vs Greece
Serbia vs Lithouania

Turkey vs Latvia.
I think that Greece (homer pick) Serbia Croatia and Turkey will fight for the metals...

Bender is so fun to watch when he brings up the ball.
You really get a Kukoc sense with him as far as his passing goes. Love watching him play, such an interesting player.

Re: U18 European Championship
Greece destroyed Italy with Charalampopoulos being again the best player on the court. Italy has 2 very talented guards, but really nothing else. They could't handle the length of the Greek team.
I guess Greece and Croatia are the best teams of the tournament. It will be really nice finals since those 2 teams are stacked with a talent.

I agree that Croatia and Greece have the most talent, but anything can happen in those games. Serbia and Turkey can get a medal too.

why giannis beat all u19 team of Panathinaikos 3 times 12-13 season, even with one leg , he still win.
I knew Greece youth is strong.
any Panathinaikos player in this U18 national team had against Antetokounmp last year?

Halftime in the 2nd Semi Final match of the day between the two most talented teams here Turkey and Croatia. Turkeys leading 31:30.
Serbia secured a final spot with a win over Greece earlier today.

Re: U18 European Championship
Croatia very, very sloppy. No discipline. Gambling on defense, helping unnecessarily, careless when dribbling and passing.
Easy to see them losing unless they start being more careful.
Edit: And Bender has started to make his mark a bit more. Good to see him stop blending in. But Turkey has got this one. Croatia can't make any shots anywhere, and Turkey are hitting everything.
