Mario Hezonja & Kristaps Porzingis

Post#1 » by Hawk Eye » Mon Nov 24, 2014 5:55 am

Which of these two are regarded as the best international prospect in the 2015 draft?

DraftExpress lists Hezonja at #5 and Porzingis at #6

Porzingis ability to be a elite defender down the road makes him more valuable imo.

Does Porzingis have the potential to guard multiple positions in the NBA? Particularly the three?

From the highlights I have seen no. He's too slow footed. He looks like he can only guard bigs. He's thin and doesn't have as much girth to bang down low at this point from the footage I have seen. He might get pushed around in the post.

I like Hezonja more.

Kristaps seems like he'd be a good starter, someone who is above average but not really a star. My gut says he can be like a Serge Ibaka level player.

I think for Hezonja, the sky is the limit. He could be a top ten player. He is really, really athletic, has ideal size, has great skills, and has a alpha dog mindset. His ceiling to me seems higher than Kristaps.

Also Hezonja projects to be a 6'8 shooting guard which is very rare. He will be great future match up for Andrew Wiggins in terms of size, athleticism and skill at the position. Hezonja as a prospect is no slouch.

I'm a big fan of both of them but Hezonja's the better prospect right now. I love Porzingis unique skill set but I don't think he has the legit star potential that Hezonja has.

Is Hezonja any better then say Bellinelli?

Hezonja is way more athletic, taller/longer and an above-the-rim player. Bellineli isn't a comp I'd use. Think of a more athletic version of Gordon Hayward, though it remains to be seen if he'll develop the same IQ and mental toughness.

Hezonja should not be compared with Bellinelli just because he is white euro, ore any other europian player in history

If you take guys like LeBron or Carter athleticisam as 10 out of 10, Hezonja has 9 out of 10.

Hezonja has NBA allstar potential and it's only his choice will he reach it or not. His recent games give hope he is in right path

It's between 8.5 and 9. His problems are lackluster defense, questionable body language towards teammates, iso-heavy offensive game and almost no playing time up until recently. And the fact none of the draft annalists except Givony, Wasserman and Pelton actually watches European basketball.
But in terms of athleticism and size Hezonja is as good prospect as anybody else. Moreover, Hezonja has the body to add more weight if needed and bulk up.

Vertical leaping is not the only part of athleticism

Body control, strength, 1st step, and open court speed are things that I need to see more footage of Hezonja to gauge

I also have questions about him in PnR

yes. It is enough to say who will be better nba player.

at that timeļ¼Œeven though i think Mario Hezonja is a younger player(1996) than Kpor. in my mind,Kpor is far better than him.

after i knew he is born in 1995, I saw this post. damn it.

you dont know the age either, right?
