Legit nba shooting guards prospects in this draft.

Post#1 » by SparksFly87 » Thu Jan 8, 2015 6:28 pm

Who else besides Caris lavert is a sure fire NBA shooting guard in this draft? I want to avoid combo tweeners like ( Delon Wright)!or undersized small forwards ( justice winslow) . The focus on who is actually starting quality shooting guards that can be found in this draft with legit size for position and prototypical skillset. Question marks concerning prospects such as Mario Hezonja true nba position should be addressed .

Wright is a PG, he can play SG because of his size.
Jerian Grant is another PG than can play two guard, so is D'Angelo Russell.

I like LeVert but he is far from sure fire, I guess RJ Hunter as a shooting specialist is another one, is a really weak SG class.

Justise can play the 2 as well as the 3, so if you consider him, he is the best prospect out there, and he is not undersized at all.
Hezonja is more of a SF, he will be more effective as a SF.
Rozier is a two guard for me as well, small but really athletic and explosive, scoring two guard, looks a little bit like Lou Williams.
Ron Baker deserves consideration too as a combo.

Tyrone Wallace and EC Matthews are power guards than get a ton of free throws, but have shaky jumpshots or decision making, Wallace has improved a ton this year after underachieving at Cal.

Buddy Hield got an awful shot selection, taking far too many 3s but he is skilled, if he can trimm that down he could be a prospect I guess.

Yes, I think he can.

Johnson vs Winslow will be a difficult decision near the end of the season.

Both:
Hyper athletic and NBA ready body
6'10-6'11" wingspan
Solid shooting

Winslow
SG/SF position in NBA. Higher basketball IQ and better passer. Better defensive instinct.

Johnson:
An inch larger and quite a bit heavier, full NBA SF size. Better offensive player

Nope, he struggles with lateral agility and footspeed to cover perimeter guys right now, he needs to reduce weight and improve quickness to be effective as a SF, let alone SG.

Johnson is not hyper athletic, nor has a solid shooting (he has no arc)
He is not a better offensive player either than Winslow, he is a better 1on1 player.

My gut is thinking Caris Lavert is the best two guard prospect and he has a stop and pop with his 7'0 wingspan to boot.
