2015 Nike Hoop Summit

Post#1 » by peZt » Tue Mar 10, 2015 4:40 pm

The rosters for this years Nike Hoop Summit game have been announced and it should be an interesting game like always.
Game is on April 11, 2015
http://www.nikehoopsummit.com/

Team USA:

Isaiah Briscoe G 6-3 / 200 April 13, 1996 Roselle Catholic / Kentucky* Union, NJ
Jaylen Brown F 6-6 / 200 October 24, 1996 Wheeler H.S. Alpharetta, GA
Jalen Brunson G 6-1 / 180 August 31, 1996 Adlai E. Stevenson H.S. / Villanova* Lincolnshire, IL
Henry Ellenson F/C 6-9 / 250 January 13, 1997 Rice Lake H.S. / Marquette* Rice Lake, WI
Chase Jeter F 6-8 / 195 September 19, 1997 Bishop Gorm

an H.S. / Duke* Las Vegas, NV
Luke Kennard F 6-5 / 180 June 24, 1996 Franklin H.S. / Duke* Franklin, OH
Malik Newman G 6-4 / 185 February 21, 1997 Callaway H.S Jackson, MS
Ivan Rabb F 6-8 / 191 February 4, 1997 Bishop O'Dowd H.S. Oakland, CA
Caleb Swanigan C 6-9 / 270 April 18, 1997 Homestead H.S. Fort Wayne, IN
Allonzo Trier G 6-3 / 185 January 17, 1996 Findlay Prep / Arizona* Seattle, WA
Stephen Zimmerman C 7-0 / 230 September 9, 1996 Bishop Gorman H.S. Las Vegas, NV

World Team:
https://twitter.com/HCanPelister

Federico Mussini | PG | Italy
Stefan Peno | PG | Serbia
George Lucas de Paula | PG | Brazil
Jamal Murray | PG/SG | Canada
Nedim Buza | SF | Bosnia
Ben Simmons | SF/PF | Australia
Skal Labissiere | PF | Haiti
Tai Wynyard | PF | New Zealand
Cheick Diallo | PF/C | Mali
Thon Maker | PF/C | Australia
Zhou Qi | C |China

Frontcourt is really good and the PG's are decent as well although I think that the team could have used another good wing player instead of maybe 5 bigs. Or at least a good SG instead of someone like Stefan Peno.

Nedim Buza, George Lucas de Paula should be 2nd round picks this year, Murray has good potential but he is still a Junior, Peno is a creative guard, a little bit chaotic, Labissiera and Wynyard will play for UK, and the rest will likely be in 2016 Draft.

I thought this year's draft was choke full of C and PF.

According to ESPN ranking, only 2 out of the top 10 players are not PF or C.

those lineups look solid and should have some really good matchups in it. That frontline bangout should be money but i'm assuming there will be plenty of zone played. Hope it doesn't swallow Biggie Swan up, I like to see that kid work on the block.

looking forward to seeing the usual suspects (Simmons, Rabb, Maker, Brown, Newman) but even more excited to see more of Briscoe, Kennard, Skal, Jamal Murray, Ellenson, and Brunson.

Thon Maker. Want to see if he gets thrown around or not.

George Lucas. Great tools, interested to see how athletic/smart he is.

Isaiah Briscoe. The #1 PG in this class but he looks so damn flawed.

I am mostly interested in Lucas because he is the only one with a shot at making a big jump this year.

No Furkan Korkmaz, Okben Ulubay and Egemen Guven? Aren't those guys considered as 1st and 2nd round picks in the 2016 draft? Are they too old? I think they are all born in 96/97

Looking forward to seeing my fellow New Zealander Tai Wynward. He committed to Kentucky a few weeks ago for the 2016 class and he's only 16. He's thinking about reclassifying to play next season.

Peno is a really nice prospect, skilled with good size for his position. Looked good in the 17s game vs USA this past summer.
