Mitch in this one, they are both role players at the next level and what McGary brings is more valuable.

McGary is almost a year older than Kaminsky. Also he may have a similar touch around the rim but that is where is ends, from everywhere else on the court Kaminsky blows him away. I like both players but for me this is Kaminsky pretty easily.

Kaminsky could bust out of the league, like a lot of bigs with his profile. McGary never will barring injury. Much better prospect. If he were a black guy with his skills.. He'd be seen as a potential franchise PF. Dude does everything thats needed minus the shot blocking. Not playing him more prob got Scott Brooks fired. Him and Ibaka should be the starting bigs for OKC

I think Kaminsky has a chance to develop into a really nice offensive player in the NBA. He's very Keith Van Hornlike. Probably a little better shooter going in, though Van Horn could obviously shoot. I don't think he'll be a very good on the ball defender, but he's long and quick enough that he shouldn't be a significant liability. I don't thin it's a cut and dry "one guy is better than the other" comparison as it would depend who else is on the roster, but in most cases, I'd take Kaminsky. I think he can be an above average starter and scorer- Just with some warts defensively, but that could be any number of bigs around the league.

I'm a big fan of both of them. They're different kinds of players. I'd rate them essentially even.

I'm a little confused by a couple of things said in this thread - the comment that Kaminsky is older than McGary and the Nash/Bird stuff. Was there a full moon when someone was posting?

McGary now has a 18-20 ft. This isn't close.

The idea that the skills gap is "close" between the two is just ridiculous to me.

As for the Nash-Bird comment, I'm pretty sure it was made just to ruffle feathers, which it seems was successful in doing so.
