U19 FIBA World Championship

Post#1 » by peZt » Sat Jun 27, 2015 10:43 am

This year's edition of the U19 FIBA World Championship just began with the first match being Turkey - Argentina. Nets draftee Juan Pablo Vaulet is playing for Argentina and Turkey has two NBA prospects with #10 Furkan Korkmaz and #15 Egemen Güven

Here's the website where you can check games and stats
http://www.fiba.com/world/u19/2015

And on their Youtube channel every single game will be broadcasted
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYQ0VJk8-fI

NBA prospects to watch are:
USA: Harry Giles, Josh Jackson, Jayson Tatum, Caleb Swanigan
Turkey: Furkan Korkmaz, Egemen Güven, (Okben Ulubay)
Greece: Vasilis Charalampopoulos, Giorgios Papagiannis
Croatia: Dragan Bender, Ante Zizic
Italy: Diego Flaccadori
Spain: Marc Garcia
Serbia: Borisa Simanic

Top favorites should be USA, Turkey, Greece and Croatia

There's rumours that Dragan Bender, Zubac and Zizic can't play for Croatia because Croatia has an exclusive deal with Jordan and they don't allow these players to play with their Adidas shoes. Would be an absolute shame to see the most talented european player miss this tournament because of such a bull**** reason

Bender apparently won't play in the tournament, because he has a contract with Adidas, while the Croatian federations has a contract with Nike. True Story :D

Same thing happened when Hezonja/Šarić were 17,18. But they had contract with Nike and HKS had with Adidas.

Apparently Bender entered into his contract with Adidas, when Croatian federation still had the contract with them and they changed to Nike after that, so basically they screwed themselves

Yep. HKS at it's best. Their incompetence never seizes to amaze me

Yankuba Sima on Spain looks like a potential prospect.

Isn't he a good rebounder?

This is not a good USA team. Iran is taking it to them.

USA's athleticism and pressure is starting to take over. Not a good team though.

Giles and Tatum will be the crown jewels for their draft class.

The U17 team with their draft class was better and the prior U19 teams were better.

From Greece watch also Tyler Dorsey. Maybe we will have something here.

Charalampopoulos got injured, and most likely will lose the 1st phase

2nd half of the USA - Croatia match just started

Would have been such an interesting matchup if Bender and Mazalin were there.
